White interior - the perfect solution for a small apartment

Light colors are a real find for small rooms. We have repeatedly advised to design one-room apartments with them, as they visually expand the space. If a few years ago, beige was a favorite among light colors, but now this place has taken white. The trend in white room decoration has been observed for ten years, but now it has become most widespread.

Variations of the white interior

White color has a dual form. On the one hand, it is monochrome and easily harmonizes with other colors. But on the other hand, it is complex and requires a carefully thought out approach. You can create a white interior in several ways:

  • absolutely white interior (walls, floor, furniture);
  • white interior with floor and furniture (fully or partially) of wooden texture;
  • white interior with bright details.

Designing a room completely in white is difficult, as it will take a lot of effort to find materials and suitable furniture. Difficulties will arise in the selection of shades. Not all shades of white will be combined with each other, but such an interior looks very interesting, which, undoubtedly, corresponds to the expended efforts.

The wooden texture will emphasize all the sophistication of white. Choosing bright doors, walls and ceiling, you will visually increase the height of the room, which is great for apartments with low ceilings. The dark floor in the white interior will expand your room, but you should avoid wooden textures of an orange hue. They will steal all the elegance of white. We can say that the choice of flooring wood texture (laminate or parquet) depends only on personal preferences.

White color with bright details is suitable for those who just seem boring white. Choose one or two complementary colors. A good option is to combine white with black or gray and one bright color. Furniture and all home accessories, select these three colors. But do not forget that white should be present not only in decoration, but also in furniture.

White color makes it possible to combine several bright colors, without allowing the interior to look tasteless. It is also an interesting way to divide the space into functional zones. Pick one element of bright color for each zone. This option is distinguished by its dynamics and modernity.

The rules of the white interior

The white interior is a bold move. Firstly, far from everyone dares to decorate their home completely with this color. Despite its apparent simplicity, white is complex. To understand what is its complexity, you can remember what he is. White color is a combination of all colors, therefore design in this way requires a special approach. Only adhering to these rules, you can create an interior that will not cause psychological discomfort.

These rules are mandatory for completely white interiors, and are possible with the option of combining color with a wooden texture. Options for combining white with other colors do not have such psychological pressure as a completely white interior, so these rules are optional for them.

Rule number 1: Invoice

If all forms in the white interior are smooth and concise, it will create a feeling of frozen space.For a long time it will be hard enough, so a white interior requires texture. The whole point of this rule is that various textures and reliefs cast shadows. Accordingly, the white interior comes to life and will no longer seem boring to you.

The larger and more varied the texture, the better. Use soft fleecy carpets, glass tables, various different-level surfaces. Furniture should also comply with this rule, the more varied and prominent the form, the more it will suit the white interior. For example, for a white interior, Provence-style decoration is perfect.

Rule number 2: Thoughtful lighting

The second rule follows from the first and emphasizes it. In order for the textures to play, the room requires a good lighting system. In addition to the main source of color, make sure that each functional area has its own lighting. The play of shadows will be especially noticeable in the evening when there is no more natural light. If there are not enough outlets in the room, then you can buy a lamp for central lighting with swivel lights. So you will have the opportunity to direct the light to the area that you need, which also provides a play of light.

Rule number 3: Exclude black

If the interior is completely white, then any dark spot, no matter what size, will look like a black hole and attract excessive attention, so avoid black in a pure white interior. In our case, black will look harmonious only in combination with bright colors, or in an achromatic interior. Then it will not harm the design, and will give a sense of reliability.

Conclusion

White color in the interior is ideal for a studio apartment. It reflects light better than other colors, which means it increases space better. In addition, it is the most versatile color. If you suddenly get bored with your white interior, you can easily change it by placing color accents - changing curtains, hanging pictures. And the apartment will change dramatically. Do not be afraid of the white soils. It is contaminated exactly as much as other light colors.
