A huge assortment of products is presented on the flooring market, which will help create a stylish interior design, fill the space with harmony, add comfort, but the soft floor is considered to be a real revolution - a beautiful and comfortable flooring, which is especially true when decorating children's rooms, play areas.
What is soft floor?
Soft floor - high-quality coating that can ensure the safety of the child, thermal insulation and sound insulation. Even a fall on such a floor will be less traumatic for children than a child’s floor from other, traditional materials.
Manufacturers offer different soft floors. Today, there are three main options:
- EVA floors;
- Self-leveling floors;
- cork floors.
Soft floor EVA and its characteristics
The soft EVA floor is ethylene vinyl acetate, which in its technical characteristics resembles rubber. The material is flexible, high quality and resistant to deformation. In addition, the floor material is hypoallergenic, which makes it a great option for a children's playroom.
The soft floor for children's rooms has certain differences from other floor materials. Its main characteristics are as follows:
- the floor in the children's room will be warm due to the thermal insulation of the material;
- even jumping on the floor will not interfere with neighbors from below - good EVA insulation will help;
- the elements are easy to fold, and if necessary, you can quickly and easily disassemble;
- the floor color is easy to choose at your discretion due to the abundance of color solutions of the elements;
- the coating is odorless, it is completely safe for children;
- it is well washed, not subject to chemicals, it is resistant to moisture and chemicals.
Modern soft floors are often used to decorate summer rooms, small playgrounds around the house, in bedrooms, in sports halls and even in office rooms, but most often this material is bought in a children's room.
Bright colors of childhood in the interior of the room
Thinking through the interior of the child’s room, parents try to create an environment that will delight, cheer up. An important point is safety. A good sex from EVA meets all these criteria. Of course, a cozy, warm and colorful children's carpet can be a good alternative to a soft floor. But bulky rugs are not at all practical in the house where a small child lives. They will have to be washed constantly, and this is a rather difficult task, which takes a lot of time and effort.
Small soft children's mats on the floor, interconnected by the principle of puzzles, will help to get rid of the hassle of washing, give bright colors to the child, and guarantee the safety of the baby.
Manufacturers present individual elements of different sizes and shapes, but whatever option customers choose, the principle of their connection is very simple, which allows you to quickly lay a convenient floor on the floor and disassemble it as quickly as possible, and transfer it to another room or even to the street.
The main advantage of soft children's floors is a wide selection of colors:
- Bright monophonic cubes of all colors of the rainbow. They are chosen not only for decorating nurseries, but also when laying soft floors in other rooms.You can think of a monophonic flooring, or combine several colors.
- Bright elements with entertaining figures, animals, fairy-tale characters, trains or letters, numbers. Such a floor will not only protect against injuries, but will also become an element for development, study.
- Puzzles for the floor with a world map, traffic rules, imitation of the streets of a fabulous city. It will be interesting for the child to lay such a carpet on the floor on his own.
- EVA-based fleecy flooring is another great solution for decorating students' rooms. The color scheme of the flooring is also wide enough, so you can choose the optimal color for any room design.
- EVA floor with the coloring of a classic floor covering: imitation of parquet, carpet for gyms, as well as for children's rooms for teenagers.
Bulk floor for a nursery
Another option for soft flooring is the bulk floor in the nursery. They are made using self-leveling mixtures, resulting in a smooth, even surface that provides a pleasant tactile feel.
The bulk floor is easy to care for, has a long service life (which is very important for children's rooms) and a wide selection of colors and design solutions.
Using self-leveling mixtures, designers create real works of art that delight in their beauty and originality.
The mixture must be selected very carefully, since not all materials are capable of boasting hypoallergenicity.
Among the minuses of bulk floors is their high price. Yes, the result is excellent, but it does not always justify the investment, as you can find a great alternative at a more affordable price. And the durability of the coating for the children's room is not entirely relevant - several years will pass and the older child will probably want to change the boring interior, including the floor design. And in this case, the promised service life of at least 50 years will not seem such a significant advantage.
Cork floors
Parents who choose a cork floor in the nursery can be completely calm. The flooring will provide comfort, warmth and will protect against injuries even moving, active children.
Cork or bark of cork oak is considered the lightest among wooden coatings. The material can be called unique, because it has several advantages compared to other wooden coatings:
- high thermal conductivity;
- nice texture;
- excellent sound insulation;
- resistance to decay;
- cork is not afraid of water, rodents, bugs and mold;
- a little spring under your feet, which allows you to attribute this coating to soft;
- durability;
- simplicity in leaving.
The color of the cork floor is mostly neutral, characteristic of this type of material. There may be options on the theme of shades, but bright colors, ornaments and patterns - this is not about the floor of the cork. Although modern designers are able to create original solutions and through the play of shades.
Along with a large number of advantages, cork floors also have disadvantages, one of them is high cost. Depending on the manufacturer and the type of cork flooring, the cost varies, but in any case it can hardly be called democratic.
Another drawback is traces of furniture, which are formed during its movement. The cork is not able to withstand high loads and traces of such movements remain forever. Small dents are not too noticeable, but can spoil the mood. If you imagine how many dents are formed in the children's room from the movements of chairs, toys and other children's accessories, you can see in your imagination a floor completely strewn with small traces of children's activity.
