How to quickly and easily clean a microwave
Content
Most modern kitchens today have a convenient device such as a microwave. In it you can cook food, heat it and thaw it. During operation, the inside of the microwave oven is very dirty. But only the housewives know how easy it is, but at the same time, to clean the microwave from grease, soot and dirt at home.
Before you figure out how to quickly clean the microwave, you need to consider the rules for caring for it. Observing the five basic rules, cleaning equipment will not cause unexpected troubles:
- Before cleaning the microwave, you must completely disconnect it from electricity.
- It is strictly forbidden to use abrasive products and metal washcloths to clean the microwave oven.
- When washing the stove, it is important to use as little water as possible so that moisture-sensitive elements are not affected.
- The use of aggressive household products is not recommended for cleaning the inside and outside of the stove.
- Even in cases of penetration of contaminants into the equipment, do not disassemble it yourself.
Cleaning with household chemicals
Today on the market there are many household cleaning products designed exclusively for cleaning microwave ovens. Substances in the form of sprays and aerosols are convenient in that they can be immediately sprayed onto the walls and bottom of the furnace, left for exposure for several minutes, and then thoroughly washed from the surface with a damp and then dry sponge. When applying such drugs should be controlled so that the chemical composition does not fall on the lattice.
Also, a gel or liquid intended for washing dishes will help in the fight against pollution of the inside of the microwave. For the procedure, you will need to apply the substance to a wet foam sponge, foam it with compressive movements. Then distribute the foam on the walls of the stove to split fat and, after half an hour, rinse thoroughly with water.
Homemade recipes using improvised tools
Undoubtedly, modern chemicals easily cope with pollution. But they can easily be abandoned in favor of no less effective folk methods. Having the simplest products and tools available, and knowing how to clean the microwave inside with them, you can pretty much save on the purchase of chemicals.
Microwave cleaning with lemon
Depending on the degree of contamination, washing the microwave with lemon can be done in two ways.
1 way. You can remove small dirt with a lemon. Half of this fruit needs to be rubbed on the inside of the oven and specifically on the contaminated area. After an hour, rinse the lemon juice with a damp sponge, then wipe dry with a dry cloth.
2 way. You can use not only lemon, but also other citrus fruits, which are cut into pieces and stacked in a container of water. Such dishes should be heat-resistant, because they with the contents will need to be put inside the oven and turned on for a period of up to 20 minutes at maximum power. After the stove finishes, let the containers with lemon and water stand inside it. Citric acid is a very aggressive “solvent”. Its evaporation in the form of steam settles on the walls of the microwave and dissolves the fat. Then use a sponge to clean the microwave oven of dirt and grease and wipe it until dry.
During the use of lemon and other citrus fruits, not only microwave cleaning occurs, but also elimination of unpleasant odors inside the equipment.
Cleaning the oven with citric acid
If it is not a season for citruses, then you can safely replace them with a solution of citric acid. For one microwave cleaning with citric acid, you will need to mix 25 g of the substance and 250 ml of water in a container. And repeat the procedure of heating the solution, as with a lemon.
The cleaning properties of citric acid are not inferior in strength to ordinary lemons, but it will not be possible to flavor the air inside the oven chamber.
Removing dirt with vinegar and soda
To remove dirt, using soda and vinegar can be both steam and mechanically.
For the steam version, you need to dissolve three tablespoons of vinegar in a glass of water and heat the resulting solution in the microwave to a boil for fifteen minutes at high power. Vinegar can be replaced with three tablespoons of baking soda. The vapor from the substances used will soften the fats, after which they can be easily washed off with a foam sponge.
For mechanical cleaning of the inner surface of the stove, you need to cook gruel from several tablespoons of soda, water and a couple of tablespoons of vinegar. Reacting with each other, the resulting mixture is applied to the surface for thirty minutes using a toothbrush. Then you need to wash the microwave, after removing the mixture.
Cleaning soap for microwave oven
A moist clean sponge is washed with soap and rubbed with foam on the inside of the oven chamber. After waiting twenty minutes, they completely wash off the soap with a clean sponge.
Useful Care Tips
- To prevent heavy pollution, it is recommended to use a special plastic cap, and in the absence of such, you can use parchment paper, cling film or glass heat-resistant dishes.
- It is advisable to wipe the surface with a damp cloth after each use in order to prevent corrosive contamination.
- If the interior of the chamber has an enamel coating, then vinegar and citric acid cannot often be used to clean the oven.
