Combining design reliability, financial efficiency and quality performance, panels are becoming an increasingly popular type of finish.
The process of installing panels is also not difficult. It is enough to understand the design technique itself. And then thanks to the large selection of panels used and their color scheme, you can create even the most unique interior design.
Key panel selection criteria
Most often, pvc or wood panels are used to repair the toilet room. This choice of materials is due to the undeniable advantages:
- Moisture resistance. It is worth remembering that the toilet room is rather humid and cold, therefore, in order to prevent the material used from deteriorating ahead of time, these parameters must be taken into account. In addition, due to the resistance of the panels to moisture, you will have a great opportunity to carry out wet cleaning of the room without much difficulty.
- Reliability. Any repair is aimed not only at a serious change of scenery, but also at its durability, and the better the material used, the longer it will serve you. Panels for the toilet have among their characteristics high quality indicators of the materials from which they are made, which in turn ensures their strength and reliability.
- Beauty. Last but not least, the aesthetic beauty of your interior design. Agree, it is much more pleasant to be in a cozy atmosphere that you like. The variety of colors, textures and textures, as well as the availability of photo printing, guarantees the ability to create the necessary atmosphere.
Types of panels used
There is a fairly large assortment of panels used. Each species has its pros and cons. Let's look at the most basic options and their features.
One of the most affordable options in financial terms is the use of PVC panels. In addition, it is PVC panels that have a number of indisputable advantages, including their increased moisture resistance. In addition, PVC panels are quite lightweight, which greatly simplifies the repair process and increases its reliability. The variety of colors of such panels knows no limit, in addition, it is on them that you can place drawings and photographs.
An equally popular option are MDF panels. Of course, for many such material can cause distrust, due to their instability to moisture. However, today you can easily find panels with special impregnations. But due to its thickness, MDF panels significantly increase the levels of sound insulation and thermal insulation.
Fans of extraordinary solutions can use natural materials. A great example of this is the panel made of classic wood. However, in addition to its natural beauty, nobleness and reliability, the tree has several disadvantages. For example, when humidity and temperature fluctuate, the tree can narrow or, conversely, expand.
Panel Mounting
After choosing the panels for finishing the toilet, you can proceed to their direct installation. There is nothing complicated in this process, but it is very important to take into account the many seemingly insignificant nuances.
First of all, it is necessary to assemble the frame, on which the panels themselves will be attached in the future. The frame is assembled from ordinary bars measuring 20 by 40 mm. They must be fixed to the walls at a distance of 40 mm from the floor and ceiling. The remaining bars must be placed at a distance of 50 cm from each other.
You can do without creating a crate, but then your walls should be perfectly smooth. Otherwise, the design will not last long.
There are several ways to fix panels to the crate. The most popular of these is the use of special kleimers. They perfectly hold the panels and, most importantly, do not interfere with their expansion from the effects of moisture, if you chose panels made of wood.
An easier way to fix the panels is to use ordinary screws. The option is a bit simpler, but unlike the Kleimers, self-tapping screws will not give the possibility of expanding the panels.
Decor in the toilet room
We should also talk about the use of decor in the toilet. For some reason, it is customary to pay little attention to this issue. Perhaps this is somehow connected with the small size of the room. However, it is still necessary, albeit in a rather specific form.
Depending on the interior of the toilet room you are creating, you can use a different decor. An example is the use of paintings in a classic or similar style. You can get by with more budget decor options. For example, the selection of special stylized toiletries.
If we are talking about panels, then in some cases various vinyl stickers will look good as decor. In addition, you can stylize a room similar to a bathroom. Indeed, in essence, these two rooms are similar, and sometimes even connected together. So the use of a single style in the design of the bathroom and toilet is even welcome.
