Loft-style bedrooms are rooms with a special interior, surprising and striking in simplicity and freedom. Such rooms miraculously combine elements of a rude industrial style and soft, calm things of a recreation and relaxation zone. It is impossible to distinguish a single and constant image of the interior in the loft style. Each designer has his own concept of “industrial” beauty and adds unique and unique accents to the atmosphere.
The layout of the room must be given maximum attention, since the loft implies the presence of large free space. You can arrange a berth in different ways:
- in a niche - while the bed is closed from prying eyes by partitions mobile or permanent;
- the attic bedroom (on the second level) is a good option for isolation for relaxing in a spacious room;
- a loft-style bed in the center of the room is the most common option, allowing you to build the entire interior around it. In this case, the furniture can become a real art object that can be viewed from anywhere in the room. To create the appearance of isolation, a sliding screen can be installed near the bed. A fashionable element of the loft-style bedroom was the construction of a false wall, which focuses on a sleeping place in huge rooms.
The rest of the furnishings are usually located around the room in random order.
Types of beds: short descriptions
Not only owners of large apartments can afford to embody a non-standard and defiant style in the interior. The right choice of beds allows the possibility to equip a loft in a compact room.
By size and number of seats
Manufacturers produce beds for adults and children. Products differ in size. For preschoolers, models are available up to 160 cm long, for adolescents up to 190 cm. A bed from 200 cm long is already characteristic of a full-fledged adult bed.
Based on the width of the furniture, the following bed options can be distinguished: single (from 80 to 100 cm) and double beds - from 150 cm. Models are usually made in increments of 20 cm. Products with a width of 140 and 160 cm can be considered as compact double beds in loft style.
By design
The rectangular shape can be considered traditional for the loft style. A wide range of products allows you to design your interior in different ways:
- a bed with legs can be considered a classic model. For the manufacture of the base, both wood and metal are used. An array bed looks warmer and homely;
- platform beds are built on special pedestals. The role of the platform can be performed by a frame made of bars, sheathed in fabric or leather. The massive leather platform, which harmoniously complements the industrial interior of the room, looks especially stylish and original.
Wooden and metal beds can be decorated with decorative factory-made rivets. To increase functionality and save space, special boxes are arranged on the platforms in which you can store bedding or clothes.
Beds installed on a platform made of wooden pallets look non-standard and industrially rude.Moreover, such a base is not lined / decorated in any way, and it also contains some objects or things (shoes, bags). Depending on the wishes of the owners, the height of such an impromptu platform can be different - sometimes there are several rows of pallets:
- a bunk bed in the loft style is set up mainly in the children's room. Such models are most often made of wood. In the teenage room it is possible to install a bunk metal bed, and under the berth the workplace will perfectly fit;
- the sofa bed is suitable for compact rooms, owners who do not want to put up with a small area and try to bring space and freedom of loft style to the room by any means.
To facilitate the task, in one-room apartments, the kitchen is combined with a room and in the studio you can put a sofa and miraculously implement the most daring projects.
The choice of bed is individual. However, in order to maintain the mood of the style, it is necessary to take into account the area of the room.
By type of head
It can be integrated with the base of the bed or be hinged. In the first case, the headboard is made of the same material as the bed base, and in the second case the headboard can be soft (sheathed with fabric, leather) or hard (wooden).
Attached headboards are formed from special small drawers - storage systems, which are closely attached to the bedroom place.
In the interior of the loft style, pallets quite easily carry out the function of the head. In order for the design to have an aesthetic appearance and be safe, it is advisable to first sand the boxes, then primer and varnish. The wooden structure and the rough appearance of the hammered together pallets organically fit into the industrial design.
How to assemble a loft bed with your own hands?
This style of interior allows for some artistic negligence in objects, so creating things with the right styling is not difficult.
To assemble the bed, you will need: wooden pallets, varnish, paint, nails, a hammer. The number of pallets is determined individually and depends on the size of the bed (single or double bed) and the wishes of the owners.
- Before assembling the structure, the boxes should be slightly ennobled. All exterior surfaces of pallets are sanded, primed and painted or varnished.
- Boxes are fastened together. A thick mattress with pillows is laid on top of the structure, linen is covered.
- You can also use pallets to decorate the head. If you do not want such a heap of pallets, then it is better to do without a headboard, putting only bedside tables for comfort.
- The function of bedside tables can be performed by small boxes painted with the same paint as pallets.
The loft-style interior is unpredictable and dynamic. And the bedroom is no exception. A cozy resting place can be arranged in the center of the room or put a bed behind a false wall. Owners of modest rooms can also style the interiors of bedrooms in the style of a loft. For this, the presence of masonry surfaces (or its imitation), a large amount of light, free space and metal / wood in the environment are sufficient.
