• Simplicity. Even a person who has never been involved in construction work before can figure out how to make a fence from a picket fence. A little theory, a little training, the simplest tools - and you can proceed with the installation.
• The sun. Country fences cannot be completely continuous - the dense shadow cast by them is not suitable for all plants and does not allow to grow the most magnificent and aesthetic of flowers. The picket provides medium shade.
• Wind. The fence will protect the site from strong winds, but will miss the light gusts, which is especially useful in the hot summers in southern Russia.
• Aesthetics. A correctly executed original fence can become a real decoration of the site - especially if you tastefully select decorative elements.
• Options. A decorative fence provides a huge scope for imagination - it can be painted in any color, equipped with any decoration, its boards can be given any shape within reason, painted with patterns or paintings.

A country fence made of picket fence is a good solution when there are not enough materials, tools, craftsmanship or desire to come up with something complicated.

Fences from a picket fence, of course, are not able to protect against people who came with evil intentions, but they will perfectly protect them from pesky neighbor eyes, curious passers-by, strong winds and free-roaming animals. It is only important to choose the most suitable option.

What are the fences?

A beautiful picket fence can be made from any material, but their specificity will be very different. The fence may be from:

• plastic is the easiest and cheapest option you can think of;
• wood - this is the most environmentally friendly and leaving room for design ideas option;
• metal is the most reliable, but also difficult to install option;
• combined materials - most often combine metal picket and corrugated board or picket and mesh.

Each of them has its own specific pros and cons.

Plastic fences

Plastic picket fences, like the rest, have certain advantages:

• Cheapness. Installation of a fence made of plastic will cost a minimum amount - this material is too simple to manufacture to make its price rise high.
• Simplicity. The construction of a plastic fence consists almost exclusively in preparatory work - then it remains only to combine the sections that are delivered ready for installation.

• Diversity. The options for plastic posts and their design are numerous - you can always pick up something to your taste.

• Resistance to external influences. The plastic fence is not afraid of rain, mechanical stress, temperature changes.

But there are also disadvantages:

Wooden fences

Among all types of picket, wooden picket is the most common. This is due to the abundance of benefits that it can provide:

• Relative simplicity. Of course, it is easier to work with a plastic fence, but wooden forms for interaction are not so difficult. No special tools or special knowledge are needed - enough patience and accuracy.
• Aesthetics. Wooden fences always look good, like any wooden products. Even if you do not paint them, the noble veins of the tree will be visible under the varnish, and it will be beautiful.
• Plastic. Wooden elements can be processed so that they are original and do not look like anyone else's. Semicircular, conical, rectangular, with decorative carved elements - pillars of the picket fence will attract attention.
• Durability. If the wooden fence is properly looked after, it can last more than ten years, invariably delighting the owners with its appearance.
• Reliability. Properly processed wood is resistant to temperature extremes, mechanical stress, humidity, even parasites.

There are also disadvantages that only a wooden fence under a picket has:

• The need for processing. Wood itself is a relatively short-lived material that is sensitive to high humidity, pests, mold, and fungi. In order to prevent it from rotting, you need to constantly monitor the condition and from time to time to renew the paint and varnish.
• High cost. Persistent varieties of wood are expensive and will have to be spent on them significantly.

The advantages of the wooden fence, no doubt, more than the disadvantages. It is worth using if there is enough money, and a wooden picket fence seems the most aesthetic of all possible options. And a separate argument is the possibility of carving, which will make the fence completely original.

Metal fences

He is not afraid of rain and snow, he will not suffer from mechanical influences, he is not threatened by rodents or creeping plants, nor mold, or insect pests. With proper care, it is able to stand for more than half a century.

• The need for constant care. Fences made of metal fences are resistant to the external environment only if they are properly looked after, painted and maintained in good condition. It is worth leaving them at least for a year, and the first signs of rust appear.

Disadvantages:

• The difficulty of installation. Massive sheets of corrugated board, even delivered by car, are difficult to convey to the place and it is difficult to attach them to the picket fence - whether horizontal or vertical.
• Low aesthetics. A dense fence looks rather boring - you can diversify its design with the help of paint, make yourself a chess fence or a fence with paintings, but this requires a creative streak, and chess does not always look.

However, among the other fences - bilateral, galvanized, white, metal, plastic, wood - a combined fence is still worth choosing for those who value shadow and privacy, those who like to feel their home with their strength.
