Soft tiles are easy to transport and load in a car. One roll weighs only 32 kilograms. In the absence of special equipment, they can be loaded one by one into the truck body, but if you need a lot of roofing material, for example, to cover the whole cottage village, you need to load the tiles with pallets. On one such pallet, a maximum of 30 rolls are laid, which are packed in shrink film.

Unlike a metal tile, a rolled tile is not afraid of moisture and corrosion does not appear on it, and it is also resistant to ultraviolet rays. Even during the hot sunny summer, it does not fade and does not deform. Due to the special coating, snow does not accumulate on the roof, which can come down in the form of an avalanche when the temperature rises. It is safety that is its key advantage. Also, roof tiles are very tight, so it does not need to be covered with an additional membrane.

Tile Laying Recommendations

Laying of rolled tiles begins with the preparation of the surface. First, OSB boards are attached to the crate, the thickness of which should be 12 or 9 mm.For reliability, the surface can be coated with a bitumen primer. Before laying the tiles, you need to make sure that there is no debris on the surface.

Installation is recommended to be performed at a temperature of at least 5 degrees - work in the cold is strictly forbidden. Before laying, you need to unwind the roll and dock the pattern. Even if you are covering the roof in an old barn, do it beautifully. The drawing is simple, so even if it is docked and cut off, there will be little waste.

Roof start from the right edge. Rolls are placed on the roof so that they overlap through the ridge. In no case should you join the edge of the roll with the edge of the ridge. In self-adhesive tiles, the lower layer is removed. This must be done gradually, carefully unwinding the roll. The coating is firmly pressed to the roof and is additionally nailed. Nails are driven in at a distance of 6 cm.

Overlapping the roof can be horizontal and vertical, but in any case, the roll should overlap through the ridge. It is the skate that is the most vulnerable spot on the roof, which may first need repairs, therefore, at the intersection of the roof slopes, a lining carpet is placed under the tile. For greater reliability, it is processed with bitumen mastic, to which the canvas is already attached with the help of nails.

When laying such tiles, as when gluing wallpaper, you need to make sure that there are no air bubbles left. If air is not expelled, then the bubble under the self-adhesive coating may increase, and over time the roof will leak. Also, so that the laid sheets of tiles are not blown away, there should be a distance of about 50 cm between their edges. For example, if the sheet is 1 meter from the ridge to the edge, then the edge of the next sheet should be shorter by 50 cm.

Soft tiles are so versatile that they can even be placed on a wall or pipe. This is more difficult than covering the roof, but if the calculations are done correctly and the tiles are laid neatly, the pipe will look very much like a real brick.

Self-adhesive roll tiles are suitable for overlapping both residential and non-residential premises. Even a beginner will cope with its installation: it is light, and it is very simple to lay. Such a tile looks presentable and decorates the simplest building. It has high noise insulation, does not deteriorate under the influence of the sun and moisture. It is quite flexible and strong, therefore, with proper installation for several years, the coating does not need to be repaired. The main advantage of this material is its affordable price.
