Topiary art stood out as a direction of landscape design in ancient Rome, because it was the Romans who were famous for their well-groomed gardens. Decorative areas (topia) were created from small trees that had sheared crowns of geometric shapes or in the form of any shapes. A special slave, a topiary, was engaged in curling the crowns of trees.
Today, a flower topiary in the home interior is an exquisite composition in the form of a tree with a neat geometric crown.
Types of Topiary
Creating a decorative tree is a creative process. The original topiary is the fruit of sudden insight. Most often, ideas arise on the combination of familiar and new materials (candy topiary, money topiary).

Types of crowns
The base for the topiary is most often round. Depending on the mood and purpose, you can choose other forms: conical, in the form of a heart or a figure. Finished crowns are sold in needlework stores. If the conditions allow, then it's easier than ever to do it yourself:
- the most suitable material for the crown is polystyrene from packaging for equipment. Its advantages: lightness, simplicity of decoration;

DIY coffee topiary: manufacturing steps
To create a composition, you need a base, fabric, a gun with liquid glue, coffee beans, liquid glue.
We prepare the basis for the crown: they carefully wrap the ball around with a cloth tape. Threads are randomly wound over the material, we fasten the fabric. These preliminary works will help to smoothly and densely lay the grains. Scissors in the crown carefully make a hole (2-3 cm deep) for the trunk.
Glue is applied to the area of the ball and coffee is gently poured. Grains are pressed and distributed so that a single layer of decor is obtained. It is aged for several minutes to dry the coffee area.
The entire surface of the base is also formed.
The trunk of the tree is painted with brown acrylic paint (if wire - wrap with sisal).
After the decor dries, the crown is put on the trunk (the top of the barrel is covered with glue from a hot gun).
The surface of the alabaster in the pot is smeared with PVA glue and covered with coffee beans. The crown is coated with acrylic paint of a bronze hue and the layer of coffee beans acquires a saturated color.
A bow is formed from a nylon ribbon and glued to the crown base.
How to create a flower tree?
To make do-it-yourself topiary of corrugated paper, you will need: a base, paper flowers of various shades, green corrugated paper, a gun with liquid glue, a satin ribbon, and beads.
The trunk is neatly wrapped in satin ribbon. A hole is made at the base of a suitable size. The edge of the barrel is covered with glue and inserted into the ball.
The flowers are glued with a hot gun. Begin from the point of attachment of the trunk. Wedding topiary can be decorated with flowers from organza, satin ribbons.
The gaps between the flowers are closed with leaves of green corrugated paper.
Pearl beads, randomly pasted near the leaves, will give a special sophistication to the crown. White pearls will magically decorate the wedding topiary.
The base pot is filled with liquid alabaster. Insert the tree and fix it with your hands until the mixture solidifies. The surface of the alabaster is decorated with sisal paper.
Using the same technology, you can make topiary from napkins with your own hands.
It is believed that topiaries attract wealth and good fortune to the house. Some people relate to this with a degree of skepticism, but it cannot be denied that beautiful crafts are a great alternative to indoor flowers.
