Stereoscopic wallpapers: rich decoration possibilities (77 photos)
By the concept of 3D wallpaper, it is customary to mean a film finishing material with a printed image, which, thanks to special processing using a computer program, creates the appearance of three-dimensional space. This is achieved by the application of the laws of optics and the peculiarities of human visual perception. And to enhance this effect helps special lighting. It is worth noting that for this type of wallpaper, a flat surface is especially important, since any flaws will impair the quality of the stereoscopic effect.
Even many of the most high-tech and expensive finishing materials are inferior in terms of attractiveness and width of capabilities to 3D wallpapers, since far from every type of decoration has such moderate base requirements as wallpaper. They can even be glued on light partitions, if only the surface has good adhesive properties (ability to surface adhesion) and is quite smooth.
However, stereoscopic wallpapers in the interior look very impressive and without light tricks, so they can be used even with a relatively modest budget for repairs. The main appeal of 3D wallpapers consists of several points:
- clarity and colorfulness - even wallpapers made in the most modest colors are expressive;
- the illusion of volume, having a visual expanding effect - a room with such a finish looks as if attached to an additional space, sometimes quite extensive if the landscape is depicted;
- originality - an interior with such a finish almost always turns out to be unique and stylish.
Qualitative and operational features of wallpaper with a stereoscopic effect
The basis for printing is a polymer film, sometimes having a loose base (the so-called non-woven 3D wallpaper). Wallpaper with such a base is slightly less demanding on the smoothness of the base and easier to stick on, but more expensive. Printing technology provides not only interesting design possibilities, but also high durability of the dye and the image as a whole. The pattern is preserved in its original form for many years, unless it is damaged by strong mechanical stress.
Wallpaper of this category can be washed (there are special varieties that are especially resistant to moisture), they are more durable than paper and are not prone to burning, which reduces the risk of fire spread.
3D stereoscopic wallpapers can be small (single) or panoramic, spanning several meters in width. Panoramic have another convenient function: with their help it is convenient to zone the room, which is very important in the current tendency to build studio apartments. But in ordinary housing, as well as in non-residential premises, panoramic 3D wallpapers create very interesting opportunities: the room looks decorated with bas-reliefs or columns, objects made of metal or wood. And if the 3D wallpaper depicts a landscape, the wall seems to be a panoramic window open onto a city street, an ancient temple, a mysterious forest, into the underwater world.
Wealth and difficulty of choice
Stereoscopic wallpapers today are presented on the market of finishing goods with a very wide range - from classically strict neutral images to overt abstraction, from real landscapes to fabulous paintings for a children's room. Most often they are used for walls, but many options have been developed for pasting the ceiling.
Due to the expressiveness of the images, the choice of 3D wallpaper should be approached with particular caution, since it is easy to visually overload the interior with them. Therefore, it is better to trust the selection of a drawing to specialists who use special computer programs to recreate the interior. Such programs allow you to evaluate how well stereo drawings will complement the room, and how the situation will look against its background.
Please note: for this type of wallpaper a careful combination of the details of the picture is even more important than for any other! With a mismatch, not only the harmony of the picture is lost, but also the fullness of the stereo effect. Therefore, for gluing a large panoramic image, it is more reasonable to invite qualified craftsmen for decoration, while single-wallpaper with a small pattern is easy to stick on your own.
