Grilyato suspended lattice ceilings attract attention with their unusual appearance, giving sophistication to premises of various purpose. Similar designs can be found in the design of stations, shops, but gradually they become one of the elements of the home interior.

Description

The Grilyato cellular ceiling differs from other types of suspended structures in that it consists of gratings assembled from elements of various textures. It can organically fit into the designed interior due to its extensive color scheme.

The square volumetric grating itself with a side length of 60 cm is formed by an aluminum profile having a U-shaped configuration. The internal space is filled with mesh plates of different sizes - from 30x30 mm to 200x200 mm. They are made of thin (0.3 - 0.4 mm) aluminum tape having the following color shades of the coating:

• chromium-plated;
• chocolate;
• matte;
• the black;
• silver;
• beige;
• golden.

The most common is the white Grilyato ceiling, although with your own preferences you can make an individual order with a different color scheme according to the RAL classification. For the installation of gratings, a suspension system of supporting profiles with a length of 0.6, 1.2, 1.8, 2.4 m is required.

In some cases, the dominant material is wood, which requires mandatory impregnation of protective compounds from decay, fire, moisture.

Application, advantages, possible disadvantages

Original slatted ceilings are used in various premises: trading floors, airports, transport terminals, train stations, exhibition halls, sports facilities, entertainment facilities.

This design is convenient for large areas, as it is not subject to sagging. There are a number of advantages of a mesh ceiling:

Types

There are several varieties of Grillato ceilings.

Standard

A distinctive feature is the same squares in the ceiling structure.

Pyramidal

Thanks to the use of the Y-shaped profile (due to the deflection of the edges to the sides under 45 degrees), a three-dimensional openwork design is created, creating a perspective that extends into a height.

Jalousie

They are used in narrow elongated rooms, visually pushing them apart, or at the communication exit areas. Such systems are distinguished by different profile heights (30 mm) and carrier (50 mm).

Multilevel

Composed of such a ceiling of large squares. The difference in levels provides a difference in the color and height of the profiles (30 mm) and guides (50 mm).

Non-standard

The basic design solution is identical to the standard Grillato ceiling, but the profiles are arranged in a different way without the formation of strict squares. This decision makes it possible to realize their own ideas for creating an original image of the interior.

Grilyato CL15

In this device, a volumetric lattice of intersecting profiles with a U-shaped configuration has a frame of profiles with an L-shape. Thanks to this solution, they can be inserted effortlessly into the suspended system mounted on the ceiling, for which the T-profile is used.

By design, such a cassette trellised ceiling is similar to CL15. If necessary, it is quickly dismantled.

Preparatory work

Given the characteristics of the Grilyato ceiling, before starting the installation, they prepare the rough floor:

• completely remove the former finish;
• wash off the whitewash;
• check the condition of the surface, if necessary, close the cracks;
• uneven planes will require additional alignment measures;
• pave the necessary communications;
• around the entire perimeter of the room, using a level - water or laser - make accurate horizontal marking for placing gratings;
• for built-in illumination stretch and connect the wires.

Having finished all the preliminary work, proceed to installation operations.

Mounting

Starting the installation of an openwork ceiling, it is necessary to accurately calculate where the supporting strips will be fixed, and determine their length. To select the best option, the room is measured, and then, according to the length and width values, such standard dimensions of the slats are selected that, when installed, require minimal cutting. The most common lengths are 1.8 and 2.4 meters. If you take the size of 2.4 m, then another 1.2 and 0.6 m will be needed in the kit.

After that, installation work is carried out in the following sequence.

1. Mark the places for suspensions on the ceiling surface with a pitch of ≤ 1 m, onto which guide strips will subsequently be mounted.
2. Along the perimeter, according to the marking applied at the preparation stage, the starting corner is mounted, screwing screws into plastic dowels.
3. For suspensions, holes are drilled in marked places into which dowels are tightly inserted. Suspensions are fixed with self-tapping screws.
4. The load-bearing strips are inserted into the hooks of the suspensions, starting with 2.4-meter rails. After them comes the turn of 1.2 and 0.6-meter guides. The result will be a cell of 0.6x0.6 meters.
5. Grates are assembled on the floor. In finished form, they are inserted into the frame, assembled from guide rails on the ceiling.
6. Once again check the ideal horizontal level of the lower plane of the suspended ceiling level. If necessary, alignment adjust the suspensions.

Fixtures

Suitable luminaires for the Grilyato ceiling are selected at a preliminary stage in order to mark the places of their installation and place the wires before installation.
