Decorating a flower pot: beautiful and simple do-it-yourself decor

Plants in the house always create a festive atmosphere. Indoor flowers make life brighter and more joyful, daily reminding us of the summer. There are not too many of them. And if you decide to buy another plant, it does not hurt to think about how to give a flower pot a unique look.

There are many ways to decorate flower pots. Each of them deserves special attention. We want to offer a simple but very original idea of designing a container for planting indoor plants. As a result of simple manipulations, an ordinary flower pot, bought in a store, will become similar to the coat color of a dog of a known breed.

Decorative pot

Thanks to this creative approach, we are able to:
- create a unique thing that will stand out against the background of the same type of store accessories;
- to give the interior of the room where the new plant will be placed, a finished and stylish look.

This peculiar “make-up” applied to the surface of the flower pot will be perfectly combined with the natural pattern on the leaves of plants. In addition, such a decorative container will harmoniously fit into any interior.

  • white ceramic pot;
  • black acrylic paint;
  • transparent varnish for finishing work;
  • small capacity for paint;
  • sponge of a special form of several sizes;
  • brush for applying decorative cosmetics.
  1. Clay containers are best suited for placing indoor flowers in well-heated rooms - in them, the earth dries faster and mold will not form.
  2. The volume of the pot depends on the power and length of the root system of the planted indoor plant.
  3. Most preferably, containers with smooth walls - this avoids the inconvenience of a flower transplant.
  4. The flower pot must have a tray and drainage holes. The absence of these important elements will reduce all your efforts to care for the plant to zero.

1. First you need to clean the surface of the pot. When applying the paintwork, the ceramic base must be dry and smooth.

2. Squeeze some paint from the tube into a pre-prepared container. Dip the sponge in the paint so that the decorative material completely covers it. Remove the sponge and wipe off excess paint on the surface of the container.

3. Evenly distributing the load, apply a sponge to the side of the flower pot, creating black circles of various sizes on a white surface. The final appearance of the product will depend entirely on your imagination.

4. To apply elongated spots, use a brush for decorative cosmetics. Such "strokes" will look great between large and small circles.

5. Make sure that the paint covers the entire surface of the flower pot, including the top of the product and the space near its base. Using the smallest sponge, you need to paint over those places that do not look bright enough.

6. Wait until the paint has completely dried and cover the surface of the flower pot with a layer of clear varnish or enamel to fix the decor.
