The quality of the stone is the main criterion that determines its choice. The presence of contrasting color transitions and color splashes will give greater effect to the wall or column on which it will be used. When choosing an artificial stone, attention should be paid to the absence of brush marks, growths and spots. To hold the cladding material firmly on the wall, its back side should not be too smooth, nor too porous and uneven. In the case of using artificial stone for cladding the walls of rooms with high humidity, it is desirable to have moisture repellent properties. In case of their absence, there is a need to cover the wall with a special water-repellent composition every few years.

Recommendations for the use of decorative stone wall decoration

Walls decorated with stone should be provided with good lighting, which will focus on overflows and color transitions, emphasizing the texture of the material. In the case of walls of the hallway, it is better to use local lighting. At the same time, the placement of LEDs above and below the wall will add sophistication to the stone. If there is a fireplace in the living room, you can decorate the stone with the fireplace itself, or you can also decorate the wall in which it is mounted. If it is not possible to provide good lighting, it is worth choosing a stone of light tones or using cladding in fragments (for example, to decorate with a stone not the entire wall, but only a corner or arched opening). An important point is the correct combination of stone and other finishing materials, because in a small room a large amount of stone looks “heavy.”
