How to make a basket using a garden hose
If you have an old ownerless garden hose, then you can use it with benefit to create a good open basket, which is always useful, for example, for storing garden tools or other small items needed in the household. There are three methods for this. But first you need to decide on the purpose, which should serve as a future basket.
1. Determined with the purpose and location of the basket
First of all, you should decide on the location of the basket and what will be stored in it. For example, if you need it to put tools thrown in a corner of the yard into it, then this is one situation. And if you want to store in it such items for swimming, like flippers, glasses and toys for the pool, then you will need a convenient holder that will need to be adapted to your basket. Well, of course, the style and color of the basket should match your open landscape design site.
2. Choose a color
Now you should decide on the color in accordance with your preferences, goals and overall design. True, for this you will have to purchase a new hose. Yes, and the color is best determined in the spring, when a new flowering begins, and in the garden store there will probably be a shade that matches your taste, and sometimes the colors can sometimes be the most fantasy. And if there is no time to wait until spring, especially since there is an old unnecessary garden hose, then why postpone until tomorrow what can be done today?
3. We make a basket from an old hose
Take the old hose and bend it from the blunt tip as shown in the photo. This will serve as the basis for the winding when creating the basket, so the nozzle should be tightly fixed. These holders will be needed.
4. Wrap two circles of the hose and fasten it.
Make two circles of tight winding with a garden hose, and then fasten them on four sides with a wire. This will be the base (bottom) of the basket and it should be tight and fixed. The hose should be well kept and not released so as not to loosen the entire structure.
Continue winding the hose around yourself, thus creating the bottom of the basket until you get the size you need, which depends on personal preferences and needs. If the basket is large enough, it is best to use a large hose.
5. Fasten the last circle
After the bottom of the basket has reached the desired size, fasten the last circle
using the holder.
6. Proceed to weaving the basket itself
Now wind the garden hose clearly along the last circle of the bottom of the basket in height as shown in the photo, thereby creating the basket itself.
7. Do not forget to fasten the edges with the holder on four sides
Do not forget to fix the hose on four sides with a holder, best in each circle. Continue to wind the hose until you reach the desired basket height.
8. Fasten the last loop
If the desired basket height is reached, fasten the last loop with the holder. And do not forget to leave about 30.5 cm of hose for making the handle for the basket.
9. Making a handle for the basket
Mark the place where the handle should be, fix the hose with the holder, and point it to the other end, as shown in our photo. The handle should be in two rows of garden hose.
10. Lock the handle on the other side.
The handle on the other hand also needs to be fixed with a holder and culturally tucked and hidden at all ends of the holders so that they do not stick out.
11. Your basket is fully ready for use.
At this stage, the basket is completely ready. Now you can use it for its intended purpose and place it in the place you need.
