Duplex apartment - studio in the loft style
Among the variety of interior styles, the loft is most popular for decorating a two-level apartment - a studio. The name of the style itself - “loft” - is translated literally from English as “attic”, and if not verbatim, then “apartment upstairs”. The meaning of this style is mainly in the minimum number of partitions and maximum fresh air. In such an interior, the new and the old are combined, that is, modern materials and equipment can coexist perfectly next to, for example, brick walls, pipes, an open ventilation system, factory equipment, and so on. If we characterize such an interior in general terms, we get simple and functional furniture, mostly cold or restrained color shades, large windows and a minimum of decor. This option looks ambitious, even a little extravagant, and is quite budgetary.
This apartment on the ground floor has a spacious living room, kitchen and toilet with bath. On the second is a study and a bedroom. The staircase to the second level is a light and airy element of the interior due to glass partitions and steps of the same color with the wall. Thus, the transition from one level to another is smooth.
The living room setting is fully consistent with the whole concept of the loft style - the complete absence of partitions, which releases the maximum amount of space. As well as the simplicity of furniture, a large window, discreet colors and light zoning.
The kitchen flows smoothly from the living room and is separated only by the bar counter. Kitchen utensils, stove, sink and all other cooking utensils are at the forefront.
And in the background is a mini dining room, where eating does not interfere. The design of the kitchen and dining space also expresses simplicity and restraint - comfortable and nothing more.
The study, located on the second level, has a rich content of metal and wood. A kind of factory option - the desk and chair are finished with metal mesh, a metal cabinet and a metal bucket for paper.
A simple bedroom without "troubles", where there is practically no decor and all the same metal elements. The neutrality of gray makes the room calm and balanced - only for sleep and nothing more.
If some other brighter colors are added, then mainly from the cold palette.
An important feature of this style is the maximum use of usable space, so that there is as much free space as possible.
The toilet and bath may contain more modern details, but be “tailored” to the essence of the loft style, namely: simplicity and functionality.
So, a two-level apartment - a studio in the loft style expresses laconicism, functional comfort, simplicity and a large amount of space. Here, old furniture can get a second chance, unfinished pipes and walls to become fashionable and modern. And, most importantly, all this is inexpensive.
