Interior of a spanish villa

Snow-white Spanish Mediterranean style villa

The Mediterranean style emerged as part of the country style with a “southern accent”. The warmth of the sun's rays, the heavenly blue and the azure of the sea were reflected in the design features of the Mediterranean dwellings. In this publication we would like to acquaint you with the manifestation of the stylistics of the Spanish Mediterranean in a modern interior using the example of one villa. This dazzling whiteness dwelling, located on a hill from where a beautiful view of the surroundings opens, is filled with the spirit of Spanish color, love of the summer sun, nature and life itself.

We begin our short excursion through the snow-white rooms of the Spanish villa from the entrance hall, where we get through the arched front door. It should be noted that not only for Spanish interiors, the use of arched doorways and partitions with characteristic cutouts is characteristic, but it is precisely in southern designs that such structural elements look most organically. The Mediterranean style is characterized by the use of snow-white finish of the ceiling and walls, but in this household it was decided to go further and veneer the floors in the same tone. Decor items made of wood of various species and beautiful dishes with southern color in the decoration dilute the snow-white idyll.

Hallway

We are in the living room, which, like most of the rooms in the house, is decorated in white. A large corner sofa and armchairs with snow-white upholstery represent a soft sitting area. In the premises of this Spanish villa, wooden furniture, painted with white paint, is universally used, but this is not specially done with imitation of the aging effect. Only a motley rug on the floor and covers for sofa cushions dilute the snow-white palette of the living room.

Living room

At first glance, the decor and decoration of the rooms in the Mediterranean style is simple and unpretentious. Here a lot of attention is paid to the decor, textiles and decoration of the building's architecture elements.

Attention to detail

The living room, as in the rest of the rooms, has large panoramic windows through which all rooms are filled with sunlight for most of the day. Almost all rooms of the villa have access to a large back patio, which is cemented and painted in the white color traditional for this southern dwelling. But we will return to it later, but for now, from the living room, climbing a couple of steps, we find ourselves in the kitchen and dining area.

Rest zone

It is not surprising that the segment of cooking and meals is made in the same snow-white manner as the living room. At a certain elevation in relation to the main space there is a zone with a dining group made in a bowl of modern and classic style - a simple snow-white table and comfortable chairs with soft backs and seats on bent legs formed a harmonious alliance. Only a colorful artwork on the wall, made in pomegranate shades, diluted the white tone of the kitchen-dining room. The original chandelier, suspended very low above the table, introduced the textured variety into the dining area.

View to the second level

The snow-white kitchen ensemble of storage systems and work surfaces is practically invisible against the general background. The facades of the cabinets are smooth, without handles and accessories. Only the presence of household appliances gives the functional background of this practical segment of the room.

Kitchen worktops

Leaving the room for cooking and absorbing food, through arched passages, we find ourselves in personal rooms.

Arched walkways

In the Spanish bedroom, the whole atmosphere is set up for pacification, relaxation and rest - a large comfortable bed, a bright palette of the room and huge panoramic windows-doors with a beautiful view behind them. But the highlight of the bedroom interior was not the bed, but an old wardrobe made of wood painted with white paint. This.Maybe not the most practical piece of furniture, gives the design of the room a unique, individual charm.

Bedroom

The house has two bathrooms. The first is a standard set of necessary attributes for water procedures - a bath, a small shower and a couple of square sinks with mirrors.

Bathroom

The snow-white finish in the bathroom is diluted only with sand-beige shades of floor tiles with imitation of pebble stone. If it weren’t for the picture above the bathtub with rich colorful colors, the whole bathroom setting could be safely called snowy, which for the hot climate of Spain sounds almost like a compliment.

The second bathroom, also made in white, is equipped with a symmetrical arrangement of two sinks with mirrors and linen baskets under them.

But the shower cabin in this bathroom is much larger and is equipped with a huge mirror on one of the walls.

Large shower

From the key rooms of the villa there is access to the back patio, concreted and fenced. Let's take a closer look at its design.

The whole complex for rest and relaxation is located in the backyard. In the shadow of the building there is a soft zone of snow-white furniture, richly decorated with pillows. And the center of the whole ensemble, despite the location in the corner of the courtyard, was the original pool.

Outdoor recreation area

A light shadow from the trees glides along the light-azure surface of the water, inviting you to plunge on a hot summer day. The whole situation is an illustration of the attitude to life, work and leisure of the southern population of the Mediterranean countries in general and Spain in particular.

Pool

Here, in the backyard, but on the other side of the building, in the shade of green plants, there is a wrought-iron black bed with bright pillows, as a symbol of the Spanish siesta. What could be better than an afternoon nap in the fresh air, when a gentle breeze caresses the skin, and in the distance you hear the sound of ocean waves?

Perhaps the best thing would be just the opportunity to have breakfast, looking at the ocean or a glass of guilt, sitting on original bar stools at a high wooden table, admiring the sunset.
