Japanese interior: bedroom, kitchen, living room
A few years ago, each designer had a Japanese-style design project in his portfolio. But fashion is changeable. Now, the actual direction is not the exact transfer of the interior in the spirit of the traditional refuge of the samurai, but the use of several accessories that give characteristic features.
This is due to the fact that the approaches to the use of space are different between the European and the Japanese. And the absence of the usual chairs, high beds and sofas makes this style uncomfortable. Also, the fact that in the interior stylized as this national style you can not use any needlework, paintings, family photos and accessories deprives the room of individuality.
The modern Japanese interior, made in accordance with European views, has the following features:
- instead of the traditional futon, a mattress is used, located on a high podium and pillows are thrown over it.
- the color scheme also changes - in addition to natural discreet autumn colors, bright accents and warm saturated colors appear.
- a sofa also appears in the living room, as sitting on the floor is not comfortable.
- paintings, posters are placed on the walls, and cute trinkets on the tables, which make the room more comfortable.
- authenticity is no longer the main thing; maintaining the usual level of comfort and creating a mood comes first. Therefore, the modern interpretation is reminiscent of the scenery in the theater, especially if you use bonsai, low tables that are designed to hold a tea ceremony, pillows instead of chairs and other traditional elements.
Japanese interior reveals secrets
Most often, the Japanese interior is used in the bedroom, because it is easier to do there, but it is much more difficult to use it for decorating the living room.
This is due to the fact that no living room can do without such purely European pieces of furniture as armchairs, a sofa, a TV stand and all kinds of appliances. But still, the Japanese style can be emphasized using:
- unusual furniture;
- decor from bamboo on the walls, laid out in the form of hieroglyphs;
- stylish lights;
- traditional Japanese rice paper chandeliers;
- various accessories - tables for the tea ceremony, compositions in the form of origami, ikebana.
A Japanese-style business card, a screen, can be used only in the case of an open-plan apartment, where its existence is justified. In ordinary apartments, it is needed only for decoration, and is suitable for enhancing the theatrical effect. But it’s better not to use it, because the line between stylization and a store of things from Japan is difficult to feel.
Stylized or not, a modern Japanese-style interior should comply with the following points:
- A discreet solution in a color scheme. Colors should be natural and muted. and the main should be a maximum of three.
- Simplicity and conciseness. This style is one of the most concise in the history of design, so furniture from minimalism is more appropriate than classical.
- Space. There should be a lot of empty space, and therefore there is not enough furniture.
- The use of natural materials in everything.
The Japanese interior is able to bring coziness and original design into your home, saturated with nature and mood of an era.
