The interior of a country villa

Mediterranean style villa

Only three or four decades ago, such an architectural structure could only be seen in foreign films telling of a fabulously beautiful, but, alas, inaccessible life. Not much time has passed, and luxurious villas, the number of which multiplies from year to year, no longer amaze anyone with their splendor.

A significant part of such original buildings is scattered on the territory of the Black Sea coast. However, you can meet similar architectural structures in other regions of the country. Our attention was drawn to one of these coastal villas with sea access.

Mansion Courtyard

The mansion, built in a Mediterranean style, has its own characteristics. Due to some moments inherent in this particular architectural direction, such houses are not difficult to recognize from many similar buildings.

Architectural features of buildings decorated in a Mediterranean style

1. The prevalence of light shades when decorating walls (white, beige, cream).

This color scheme contributes to a better reflection of the sun's rays, makes living in the house more comfortable.

2. The presence of flat roofs, tiled.

This design allows homeowners to take sunbathing without leaving home.

3. A large number of semi-open rooms

Green verandas, spacious balconies and covered terraces help the inhabitants of the southern regions to hide from the heat on the hottest days.

4. The use of natural materials

When facing surfaces of walls and floors, various types of natural stone are most often used. Out of competition, wood and ceramics also.

5. Arrangement of patios and pools near the house

These bright “islands” give the main building a more picturesque look and provide homeowners with a comfortable stay in the courtyard.

Features of the exterior of the building

As soon as we enter the territory of the villa, we immediately find ourselves in a fabulous Mediterranean kingdom. The two-story building, stretching along the seashore, has a rather squat appearance. The construction differs in a very bizarre form: the structure consists of several parts, smoothly turning into one another. The internal and angular part of the building is made in the form of small towers with windows-loopholes.

Central part of the building

The walls of the building are covered with a pleasant cream color. Most of the windows on the first floor are arch-shaped. Window openings of the second level are decorated as standard, however, thanks to the decorative brown shutters that give the building a special touch, they look quite expressive.

Villa Exterior

The roof of the building, covered with tiles, has a sloping shape. All parts of the building are distinguished by their originality: here you can notice both flat and gable surfaces. There are even turret-shaped roofs that give the structure the appearance of a medieval castle.

The project provides for several separate entrances to the house, decorated in the form of arches. The villa has a picturesque patio with a fountain and pool.

The interior of the building is made in a single color scheme. In all rooms of the villa cream-brownish shades prevail. All surfaces and accessories look very harmonious and holistic: almost white walls, yellow-beige floors and window frames of exquisite chocolate color. The main color accents in some rooms use potted flowers, bright wallpaper on the walls and colored tiles.

A significant part of the rooms inside the building is also decorated in a Mediterranean style. The first thing you should pay attention to is the huge number of arches having different sizes and rather bizarre outlines.These structures are perfectly combined with arch-shaped windows and rounded arches, which significantly expand the space and make it easy to move from one room to another villa. Some rooms have double-leaf wooden doors with a classic shape.

Massive ceiling beams painted in deep brown are another design element of the Mediterranean villa. This attribute, also characteristic of former factory premises, is present in almost all rooms of the building. Wooden beams follow the shape of ceilings. In some rooms, they even have a sloping view.

As the main material for the decoration of the floor, tile is chosen. When decorating the interior of the villa, ceramics of various shapes are used:

  1. simple rectangular;
  2. mosaic;
  3. hexagon (honeycomb).

This material was chosen by the designers for a reason. Firstly, ceramic floor coverings keep cool perfectly. Secondly, this tile is resistant to temperature extremes and moisture. And thirdly, it is very convenient to use and beautiful.

The tile in the kitchen is used not only as a basis for the floor, but also for the design of walls. When decorating the panels, ceramic with an unusual ornament is used.

Furniture and accessories: the influence of the south

All pieces of furniture in the house are selected so that people living in the villa are provided with the maximum level of comfort. Here you will not find something extravagant, exclusive and very expensive. All furniture in the house is different:

  1. quality factor;
  2. sustainability;
  3. squat view.
Fireplace in the southern kitchen

The most unusual room of the villa can be called a bedroom, equipped with many bunk beds. Thanks to the striped fabric curtains covering the sleeping areas, the owners and guests of the villa expect a very comfortable stay. To climb to the upper floor, the villa’s design project provides for stable wooden stairs. The room has built-in drawers for storing linen and other necessary things.

There are not too many decorative accessories and trifles in the house. From the main decorations of the mansion can be distinguished:

  1. mirrors in carved antique frames;
  2. chandelier-decorated chandeliers;
  3. all kinds of vases, paintings, figurines and table lamps.

The problem of lighting in Mediterranean buildings is not too acute due to the influence of factors such as:

  1. southern climate impact;
  2. Long daylight hours
  3. architectural features (the presence of a huge number of windows).

A significant part of the world enters the house naturally through arch-shaped and rectangular window openings. Artificial lighting provides illumination of certain places, for example, the area of the table, beds or bedside tables in the bathroom. To do this, the villa has various lighting fixtures: chandeliers in the form of candelabra, table lamps and spotlights.

The most delightful places in the country villa are the terrace and patio, which overlooks the sea coast. You can admire the romantic landscapes and enjoy the smell of algae without leaving far from home. To do this, there is comfortable furniture on the terrace: a soft sofa and armchairs with wooden armrests, as well as a low rectangular table.

Another relaxation area is equipped next to the pool. There are several comfortable soft sunbeds with carved metal armrests and many ornamental plants in tubs. Near the house you can see a lot of green spaces and shrubs.

Pool in the villa

Our acquaintance with a country villa, spread out near the sea coast, is coming to an end. A truly fabulous architectural building will be remembered for a long time by its spacious halls, vaulted ceilings, exquisite arches and ancient candelabra, and most importantly - by the entrancing smell of the sea and algae, giving a feeling of unlimited freedom.
