What are air conditioners
In the summer, when the sun is burning on the street and the city’s stuffiness is standing, one wants to hide somewhere in a cozy cool place. But, unfortunately, even the premises often do not give us comfort. Air conditioning is the perfect solution to create your desired microclimate and feel great in any weather.
But before you run to buy, let's understand their varieties? Air conditioners are divided into 3 types: domestic (RAC), semi-industrial (PAC) and industrial (Unitary). Each of them includes additional subtypes, which we will now familiarize ourselves with.
Household types of air conditioners
Domestic air conditioners have the least power (2-9 kW) and are capable of cooling areas of not more than 100 sq.m. This is the most successful home option, as manufacturers always focus on ergonomics, beautiful appearance, compactness and noiselessness.
Domestic air conditioners:
1. Monoblock. Consist of a single design, easy to install and dismantle. They have very affordable prices. There are:
- Mobile They are installed on the floor, near the window, where a special condensate hose is diverted. The downside is that they are noisy. But this is just a great option for a temporary rental apartment or cottage.
- Window. They used to be more popular before, but now they are rarely in demand, primarily because they are difficult to install, noisy, and in winter they let cold into the room. But such air conditioners are the cheapest, so they can be called a great solution for a summer cottage or summer outbuilding near the house.
- Roof Mounted in the ceiling, silent in operation and almost imperceptible.
2. Split-system (split-system). They consist of the air conditioner itself and a separate capacitor, which is installed outdoors. As a rule, these are wall-mounted air conditioners, installed under the ceiling and having a control panel. Wide functionality has been making them the most popular and sought after in the market for more than a year.
Industrial types of air conditioners
We will briefly consider industrial air conditioners, as they are almost never installed at home, but for a general concept you need to know. Their power is from 15 to 5000 kW. As a rule, they are installed in sports or large retail premises with an area of 300 square meters or more.
Industrial air conditioners:
- multizone
- cupboard
- roof
- central
- projection.
Semi-industrial types of air conditioners
Semi-industrial ones have a capacity of 10-35 kW and can be installed both in large cottages or offices, and in private apartments from 50 to 250 sq.m. area.
Semi-industrial air conditioners:
- Cassette Used in large rooms with a false ceiling. They are mounted directly on the ceiling, and only their lower part is visible, covered by moving blinds for even distribution of air.
- Ceiling. Mounted externally on any ceiling (or wall). The operation is similar to cassette.
- Columned. This is a small “bedside table” (similar to a refrigerator), very powerful, but overall. Columned air conditioners do not look very good in design, but operating efficiency completely covers this.
