Laminate packaging

Laminate packaging

Today, laminated flooring is considered one of the most popular building materials on the market. For a relatively low price, the buyer receives an excellent floor, which is characterized by high wear resistance, wide color gamut, variety of species and great aesthetic look. The material is environmentally friendly, durable and easy to maintain and install. You can purchase it at any building goods store. Laminate is sold in packages, although in some cases, it can be purchased individually. Other laminate secrets: styling, views, photos in the interior, tips for choosing and much more read here.

Laminate packaging labeling

Laminate packaging has the following size

Laminate is a prefabricated floor covering, consisting of boards or plates, which, when connected to each other, form a continuous floor. Therefore, many buyers are often worried about how much material needs to be prepared so that they do not have to be bought up during the installation process.

The amount of laminate in the package

Information on how many boards are packed and what is the area of one board can be found on the package itself. As a rule, the number of lamellas depends on the manufacturer, but the most common packaging is from 6 to 9 pieces. Although sometimes they pack 10 to 12 pieces of lamellas. But how many meters in a laminate package can be calculated by yourself by multiplying the area of one board by their number in the package.

The size of one board, depending on the class and brand, averages 1261 x 189 x 7 mm, although other sizes are found, for example, 1285 x 194 x 8 mm, 1210 x 191 x 8 mm or 1324 x 330 x 8 mm. For example, a laminate up to 330 mm is used to simulate ceramic tiles. The most popular format is about 190 mm. Experts believe that it is precisely this size that is most optimal for imitating the color and pattern of a natural tree. The length of the board is also not standard - from 1132 to 1845 mm. Therefore, knowing how many meters there are in a laminate package, you can easily calculate how many packages you need to purchase for your needs. By the way, it is advisable to immediately buy all the necessary amount of material. For sometimes, having made a mistake in the calculations and then buying the missing laminate, you can get a completely different material, in tone or shade, different from the one bought before.

Material weight

It is practically not necessary to know the weight of the laminate packaging for its installation. This information is most likely needed to transport packages. Almost always, the packaging of lamellas weighs 15 kg, but this information is relative: the boards come in different sizes and in the packaging they also come in different numbers. There are packages weighing less than 10 kg and over 16 kg. Laminate packaging is carried out by manufacturers on special equipment:

  1. IMPACK + T40, whose performance reaches up to 2100 packages per hour;
  2. FS-40, performance depends on the length of the packaged goods;
  3. FS-60, working with different performance depending on the length of the coating.

Typically, the material is packaged in a polyethylene shrink film, the thickness of which is 80 microns. Such packaging reliably protects the laminate from contamination. In addition, the transparent packaging of the laminate allows the buyer to clearly see the pattern and color of the coating, as well as a page with a description of the product. Usually it indicates to which manufacturer the packaged material belongs, the wear resistance class, the area of one board and the weight of the laminate packaging. Among other things, the code and name of the board decor should be marked on the package.
