Secrets of the looking glass: the bright life of an ordinary mirror
In the life of each of us, there comes a moment when you want to feel like a little artist - a person who is able to create a real miracle in everyday situations. In fact, it is not so difficult. With enough imagination and a desire to be creative, you can achieve a lot. Today we decided to show you how you can create an original frame for a mirror with your own hands.
In the decoration process, we need very little:
- an unnecessary round-shaped mirror with flat edges;
- thick cardboard sheet from under furniture packaging;
- set of plastic disposable spoons;
- glue of type “Moment” (superglue is not recommended);
- glue gun;
- red spray paint;
- two nails with a wide hat and a metal bracket for making a fixing loop
- a simple pencil;
- compass.
So, let's start creating the framework.
Take a pre-cooked rounded mirror with a diameter of 18-20 cm.
Lay out the cardboard sheet on the table and apply a mirror canvas to it.
We outline two circles: the first is the diameter of the mirror, the second is about 13-15 centimeters from the first marking.
Cut a circle around the edge to get a cardboard blank.
Take ordinary medium-sized plastic spoons.
Using scissors, cut off the lower part of each of them.
We apply the resulting decorative material to the surface of the cardboard sheet so that the rounded parts of the spoons protrude beyond the inner circle in the form of flower petals, forming a new circle.
Glue improvised petals with a glue gun.
Similarly, we apply and glue the second row of petals inside the first layer, slightly shifting them to the side.
The third layer of decorative material is final. It should also be glued with a slight offset compared to the previous row of petals.
Take the red spray paint and apply it in a thin layer to the glued parts of the spoons and the cardboard base under them.
Cut off the excess part of the circle that extends beyond the flower petals.
Turn the product over and glue the mirror circle to the center of the composition.
If you plan to decorate the wall made in your apartment with a mirror, you should provide a fixing loop. To do this, even before sticking the petals, it is necessary to nail a metal bracket to the back surface of the decorative product.
