Mediterranean style in the interior
By the name of this style it is clear that in the interior there will be such elements that are associated with the sea, the sun and vegetation. The interior in this style creates an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. The design of houses in the Mediterranean style originated in the West: Greece, Italy, Turkey, Egypt and other countries. The main feature of this style is its simplicity in the interior. All elements combine creativity, comfort and practicality.
Mediterranean style features
Very good handmade furniture. Most often it is made from bog oak or pine. Many use painted furniture to match the color of this style. The color palette in different countries is different. For example, in Greece these are cold shades (white, all shades of blue and emerald). In Italy, warm shades are preferred (yellow, red-pink, cream, terracotta, ocher yellow and brick). 
In the Greek style, the ceilings and walls are painted white, despite this the finish looks rough. Therefore, this option is suitable for uneven walls, and this will save money on alignment and strength. The Italian style in the decoration of the walls combine several textures. For example, mosaic tiles, decorative plaster, wall painting and imitation of frescoes. In the Mediterranean interior, flooring is minimized. The main material is tiles in warm colors. Refinement of the floor is given by images of scenes of ancient Greece from marble mosaics. On a tile you can lay mats made of reed or algae. They are quite durable and create an atmosphere of proximity to nature. It is worth remembering that our climate is not suitable for such floors, so it is better to take care of arranging a warm floor in advance. You can use wooden floors instead of tiles. It is necessary to take into account that the texture of the tree is not striking and is not the center among the rest of the interior details.
Bedroom decoration in a Mediterranean style
In a traditional Greek bedroom, everything should be at a minimum. From furniture, everything you need is a bed, a nightstand, a linen closet and a small sideboard. To diversify the interior a bit, you can use textiles: snow-white bedding, colorful rugs, bedspreads and rugs, as well as linen curtains to match the color of the walls. In the Greek bedroom, furniture is predominantly in bright colors, woven from reeds or pine. The same should be dressers, linen closet, chairs and a table. 
In the Italian style, the furniture is made of black metal. Curved legs on the dressing table, symmetrical patterns on the headboard and wicker seats on wrought iron chairs - all this is the style of the Italian bedroom. The only wooden item in the bedroom is a wardrobe in dark colors.
Mediterranean style living room decoration
The living room is designed to relax with the whole family or with friends. In Mediterranean countries, such meetings are accompanied with a meal, so the living room is usually combined with the dining room. The main subject in such a room is a table. Remember that in the Greek style armchairs and chairs are wicker or wooden, while in Italian, forged furniture with wooden seats. 
A prerequisite for a living room is a large number of seats: armchairs, chairs and several sofas. The set will be complemented by a coffee table, shelves and bookshelves, which are made of bog oak or pine. A bookcase with interesting forged patterns is perfect for storing family items.
Mediterranean-style bathroom décor
In the Mediterranean bath, the ceiling and walls are finished with tiles, it is advisable to apply the lining of various colors. For example, lay out the walls with a mosaic of azure color, and the floors with terracotta tiles.All plumbing in the bathroom is wall mounted and has hidden communications. This is quite practical: it is much easier to clean up when the floors are free, and the visual effect of a spacious room is also created. Furniture is selected according to the same principle: closed or open shelves, wall cabinets, towel holders, and hooks on doors and walls are used for clothes. There is practically no textile, the only thing is waffle towels, which are well suited for the Mediterranean style. 
The bath is illuminated using ceiling lights that have elongated frosted glass shades. They are recommended to be placed so that the light gets only in those areas where they are needed: above the sink, bathtub and mirror. And let the rest of the corners be in twilight and cool.
Mediterranean-style cuisine
In all Mediterranean countries, cuisine is the heart of the house. Residents of the Mediterranean take cooking very seriously, so the kitchen should be spacious and carefully planned. The basis in the interior is archaic simplicity. All furniture should be antique:
- self-contained cabinets and buffets with the effect of aging;
- black wrought iron chairs and tables;
- old wicker chairs, baskets and drawers.
Typically, Mediterranean cuisine is combined with the dining room. The main subject of the kitchen is a large table. It should be in the center, and the work area is hiding under a spacious niche. Household appliances look inconspicuous and simple. Despite the fact that the furniture seems rustic, it should attract attention. Lighting in the kitchen should be natural, so the windows should be large. In the evening, the kitchen is lit by a simple chandelier. When choosing a Mediterranean interior, you need to remember that any of its directions is simplicity and conciseness. For painting the floor, walls and ceiling, choose only three primary colors. For a more complex design, use mixing and overlapping similar shades. But the classic of style always remains the spirit of country with its unpretentiousness and simplicity. To fully apartment or house were in the spirit of the Mediterranean, you need to choose the right furniture in all rooms. It should be easily combined into a single whole: either forged, as in Italy, or wicker, as in Greece.
