How to make lighting in the apartment
When creating a stylish, “living” interior, proper lighting plays a special role. The correct organization of light affects the visual perception of space, which determines the coziness and comfort in the house. Let's look at some rules for organizing lighting in an apartment.
Living room
The living room is one of the most difficult rooms in terms of lighting, as there are often several functional areas at once here. The main goal is a moderate background lighting, the brightness of which can be changed depending on the situation.
You can use almost all lighting options - desktop, wall, ceiling, with reflected or directional light.
In large living rooms, voluminous luxurious chandeliers are not uncommon; for a smaller room, miniature wall lamps and built-in halogen lamps are suitable.
It is recommended to have control lights to illuminate the main objects and secondary areas: workplace, mirror, shelves, etc. Try to avoid the accumulation of shadows, as this is considered one of the most common design errors.
Kitchen
In the kitchen, the organization of light should be uniform and not very blinding. One general lighting in the center of the ceiling will not be enough. All functional areas should be illuminated, especially the main jobs of the hostess: a cutting table, a place near the sink and a stove.
In addition, you need top (called background) lighting, it is also recommended the installation of lamps inside shelves or cabinets. To illuminate the workplace, which is located under the hinged closet, special strip lights are best suited.
If the kitchen will be used as a dining room, in this case, recessed lamps should be placed above the dining table in the ceiling or an original lifting and lowering lamp should be suspended.
But be that as it may, in many kitchens and in our time, the main solution remains the lamp, which is located in the center of the kitchen. Such a lamp dooms the mistress to work in deep shade.
Bedroom
It is not recommended to set the light too bright in the bedroom; it should be warm and soft. A few wall lights near the bed and spotlights on the ceiling will suffice.
It is very important to combine easily controlled local luminaires with subdued background light. A dazzling, bright light source can be placed near the dressing table.
It is very common to use the control from two places, which allows you to use the light, just not getting out of bed.
From the variety of fixtures, we recommend that you choose models that will not be contrasting, but simply that they will easily and naturally complement the design of the room, as well as their color scheme.
Children's room
Preschoolers need a higher level of lighting, since in these years a lot of time is devoted to outdoor games.
For safety and comfort, low-light night lighting is installed in the rooms of primary school children.
Older children will need high-quality table lamps or small portable lamps for the working area (a place for homework, etc.).
As you can see, it’s not at all difficult to arrange proper and comfortable lighting in the house. Thanks to the wide range that the modern market offers, you can choose for yourself lamps that will ideally fit the interior of the room.
