Choose material for the walls
Wallpaper - A classic version of wall decoration. Material can be selected for almost any room, because there are many types of material: from simple paper to modern 3D wallpapers. Wallpaper perfectly combines decorative qualities and practicality.
Tile - there are a large number of tiles of various textures and colors, differing in their technical properties and qualities. Each type has its own advantages, but almost any tile is resistant to moisture, temperature changes, has a fairly high wear resistance. Therefore, this material is great for the kitchen and bathroom.
Painting - The most affordable option for wall decoration. The building materials market provides a wide range of paints, in addition, special painting tools (for example, a texture roller) will help to design a room in an elegant and original way. But do not forget that the paint can emphasize the bumps and defects of the walls, so the walls are leveled with plaster or drywall before painting.
Drywall - universal material for room decor. Allows you to create a variety of curly design solutions and complement them with various fixtures. This method of decoration allows you to hide the roughness of the walls, wiring, pipes, etc. Of the minuses should be noted the hollowness and echo of the wall.
Decorative plaster unique in its final performance, because the material is plastic, changeable and universal in terms of decoration. Of the advantages, it is possible to note the seamless application, environmental friendliness, fire resistance, as well as ease of care. The downside is the difficulty in applying and the high cost of the material.
Pvc panels - A quick and practical way to finish. Panels possess such qualities as moisture resistance and unpretentiousness in leaving, therefore they can so often be seen in toilets and bathrooms. But today there are decorative panels with imitation of wood, stone and other textures that perfectly decorate the living room or bedroom.
What about gender?
Tile - great for the bathroom, it can also be laid in the kitchen, hallway or in the utility room. The floor of the tiles is wear-resistant, durable and easy to clean. Among the shortcomings, it can be noted that such a coating is “cold”, therefore it is recommended to connect a “warm floor” system.
Parquet - One of the most expensive finishes. The advantage of parquet is its artistic appearance and, of course, naturalness and environmental friendliness. Such a floor requires special care, as the tree is afraid of moisture and temperature changes.
Laminate - A modern and practical way to finish the floor. A wide selection of colors and textures will help to decorate and complement any interior. Laminate has durability, wear resistance and fire resistance. In addition, such a floor does not need to be painted, primed or varnished over time. To care for it, you only need a damp cloth.
Bulk floor - a coating in the form of a screed based on a self-leveling mixture. This floor has a flat and smooth surface. A distinctive feature is the possibility of applying a film, which gives the floor a 3D effect.
Linoleum - One of the most popular ways to finish the floor. The material is able to imitate any coating: wood, tile or even stone. Among the shortcomings can be noted poor resistance to low temperatures, otherwise linoleum hardens and crackes.
Ceiling
Polystyrene foam tile - A fast and fairly effective decor option, great for repairing an economy class. The material is very easy to install and does not require much experience.
One-piece:
Drywall - universal material in terms of creating multi-level ceilings with various combinations of fixtures. Moreover, such a ceiling hides surface defects, wiring, ventilation, etc. The loss in height will be at least 5 cm.
Stretch ceiling - is a perfectly evenly stretched fabric, which can be glossy, matte, satin or textile. High aesthetic appearance and quick installation are the main features of suspended ceilings.
Modular:
Cassette - a metal suspension frame, the decorative elements of which are plates (the so-called cassettes). It has qualities such as moisture resistance, durability and hygiene.
Rack and pinion - similar in design to cassette, also made of aluminum or galvanized steel. Easy to clean, therefore, great for bathroom and kitchen.
Lattice - most often used in rooms with a large area, has a continuous cellular structure. Unlike rack and cassette, it differs in more complex installation, since all elements are assembled manually.
