How to make a fireplace out of the boxes with your own hands?

The fireplace is becoming increasingly popular, because in addition to performing a direct function, it is a spectacular decorative element. And if it is quite simple to install it in a private house, then it is impossible to do this in an apartment. However, there is an alternative - to make a fireplace out of cardboard boxes.

DIY fireplace

In anticipation of the winter holidays, you always want a special cosiness and family warmth. It is this atmosphere that helps to create a fireplace, even if it is made of cardboard boxes.

To create it you will need:

• cardboard box;
• construction tape;
• putty;
• baguette;
• scissors;
• black and white paint;
• ruler or centimeter;
• glue;
• pencil.

If the box is too narrow, we cut out inserts from the cardboard for expansion.

We fix with tape the places where the box opens.

The prepared box looks like this. But so the fireplace will be too narrow, so we get down to work with additional elements.

We bend the blanks from cardboard in the form of a corner and glue them on the sides of the cardboard box.

From the cardboard we cut out the upper part of the fireplace. Glue it on the box with glue.

After drying, the fireplace blank looks like in the photo.

We begin to create a firebox. It can be of various shapes, it all depends solely on your imagination. To do this, make markup, cut the box and bend the cardboard inward.

Cut off a strip of cardboard, apply glue to it and glue to the top of the furnace. Additionally, fix the parts with tape, as in the photo.

In the same way, glue a strip of cardboard to the bottom of the furnace.

Glue the baguette to the top of the fireplace.

We prepare putty and process the holes between the baguette.

After the putty dries, we paint the entire surface of the fireplace with white paint.

We draw lines with black paint to create the effect of a rough stone. To do this, paint only the outline. Beautiful fireplace out of the box is ready! If desired, it can be decorated with additional decor.

In this case, you need the following to work:

• carton boxes;
• knife;
• ruler;
• white paint;
• brush;
• golden acrylic paint;
• paper tape;
• small cloves;
• pencil;
• New Year's decor.

Almost in the central part of the box we make markings for the future fireplace.

Cut cardboard with a knife on the sides and top.

On the lower part of the markup, we draw the angle of the ruler with a little effort. This is necessary so that the cardboard bends exactly along the line.

Draw the ruler several times so that the workpiece has the same shape as shown in the photo.

We bend the cardboard down, and then fix it with tape on the inside.

From the second box we cut two pieces of the same size. These will be the walls in the future decorative fireplace.

Alternately fix each of them with tape.

We paint the workpiece with white paint and leave it to dry completely. If necessary, you can apply another or two layers.

We attach a garland to the fireplace with the help of small cloves. It is better to bend the ends so as not to get hurt.

On the surface of the fireplace we make a contour of the picture. It can be beautiful curls, imitation of a brick or something else. Choose the option that suits you.

We take a golden color acrylic paint and draw a contour. If you wish, you can shade it a bit to make the picture look more natural.

In the same way we draw an additional pattern on the fireplace.

As a result, the fireplace looks like in the photo.

We lower the garland, add additional decor and set the fireplace in a suitable place.

DIY fireplace out of the box

A beautiful decorative fireplace does not have to be festive. After all, if desired, it can be installed in the room to create a cozy atmosphere. Of course, to create it will have to make a lot more effort. Nevertheless, the result of this is really worth it.

Necessary materials:

• big box;
• masking tape;
• a shelf made of cardboard or polystyrene;
• white spray paint;
• pencil;
• stationery knife;
• polyurethane stucco molding;
• ruler;
• PVA glue.

We draw a drawing on the surface of the box. Try to take into account all the nuances so that the fireplace turns out to be of the correct form.

We cut the central part with the help of a clerical knife and bend it. We fix using adhesive tape on the inside.

Cut out long stripes from cardboard. They will be needed in order to arrange the side parts inside the fireplace. We attach them to the workpiece using adhesive tape.

We make decor for the fireplace from stucco molding. In this case, it is an imitation of brickwork. If desired, you can make absolutely any option. And of course, the last step is painting the fireplace. If the coating is not uniform enough, you can make another layer. After drying, install the fireplace in a suitable place and decorate at our discretion.
