- matchboxes from which it is easy to make drawers for dressing cabinets and tables;
- plastic bottles;
- cardboard boxes for cosmetics, shoes or household appliances;
- molds for eggs, food containers made of plastic;
- bright kitchen sponges, viscose napkins;
- plywood;
- scraps of fabric, leather;
- foil, flexible wire;
- knitting threads and other little things that may come in handy in the process of creating doll furniture.
In addition, beads, rhinestones, beads, polymer clay and other decorative details can come in handy, because the more elegant and brighter the puppet interior, the more charming it is.
Furniture for dolls from boxes
Miniature furniture made of cardboard boxes is a great idea for a doll's interior. Today we show an example of making a dressing table and dresser.
So, for a dressing table you will need:
- a small box (you can take a package of hair dye);
- pencil and ruler;
- stationery knife or scissors;
- glue;
- foil;
- colored or white paper for pasting at the final stage.
First, determine the height of the future table so that the doll looks harmoniously next to it. Trim the cardboard box at a given height.
From the remaining box cut a flat flap of cardboard (blank under the mirror). Its width should coincide with the width of the dressing table, the height can be about 15 cm. Using glue, attach the mirror to the base. Decorate the edges beautifully with openwork curly patterns or make them rounded.
Glue the structure with colored or white paper.
Decorate the blank with painted drawers and doors, and the place for the mirror and the side of the table with beautiful patterns.
At the end, it remains to cut out the “mirror” from foil, handles for doors and drawers and stick them on the finished product.
You can complement the dressing table with an elegant bed and armchairs in the same style. For example, you can decorate them with a pattern similar to the pattern of a mirror and a table. So the interior for the doll will look more organically.
Making a doll’s chest of drawers is easy. To do this, prepare:
- matchboxes;
- beautiful napkins or decorative paper for pasting;
- glue.
Glue matchboxes together so that the drawers extend. Paste the finished product with decorative paper.
Furniture for plywood dolls
It is also easy to craft a round coffee table for a doll made of plywood. The following materials will be required:
- plywood;
- glue;
- a tool for cutting plywood (for example, a jigsaw);
- acrylic paint or varnish.
The surface of the table and the shelf will be in the form of two identical circles, cut them out of plywood. In parallel, we cut the racks for the shelf and legs. Next, we connect the workpieces to each other with glue and finally cover with paint or varnish.
Furniture for wooden dolls
Even doll furniture can be almost like real. We offer to make a wooden mini-sofa. Prepare:
- wooden flat strips with a thickness of about 1 cm;
- flap of fabric for pasting;
- glue;
- tool for cutting wood.
Cut 5 elements of the sofa for the doll:
- Base (height - 6 cm; length - 16.4 cm).
- The back and bottom (height - 6 cm; length - 14 cm).
- Two armrests expanding to the top (height - 4 cm; length below - 6 cm; dyne above - 7 cm).
We glue the parts together, except for the lower part for seating.
We cut out fabric components of appropriate sizes and paste them on the workpiece.
Separately, paste over the bottom of the doll’s sofa with fabric and lay it on the base.
Adorable doll sofa ready! We recommend using a fairly dense textile that resembles real furniture upholstery. It can be velor, velvet, suede, linen, cotton, velveteen, leather, etc.
Paper furniture for dolls
To make a paper doll table with a cute mosaic worktop, prepare:
- thick paper or cardboard;
- awl;
- a ruler;
- stationery knife or scissors;
- plain color cardboard;
- wooden skewers or toothpicks;
- glue;
- thick thread.
First of all, we cut out the basis of the future countertop from thick paper or cardboard. The sizes are determined according to the doll. In the corners, make holes for the legs and 4 sides for the racks. The latter will be needed for wicker decor.
A beautiful mosaic countertop will turn out from small squares of colored cardboard, which are glued to its upper part.
Insert the toothpicks into the holes, additionally fixing with glue. Braid the legs of the doll table with threads in a spiral, the edges of which are also fixed with glue.
Glue the end of the thick thread to the bottom plane of the countertop near any rack. Braid racks and legs, letting the thread alternate from above to below. It is important that the weaving is dense enough, but not too pull the racks - this can deform the product.
The binding may be partial or complete, at your discretion. At the end, decorate the upper and lower edges with a pigtail woven from the same threads.
Next, prepare the base for the shelf. To do this, glue the toothpicks crosswise at the required level or tie two tight threads in the same way. Put a rectangle of cardboard or thick paper on top, fix it with glue.
Furniture for dolls can also be very stylish. What about the bean bag chair or charming ottomans made of ordinary plastic covers trimmed with soft filling fabric?
Do not forget about the details. A large button wall clock is a great addition to a cozy dollhouse.
Surprisingly, even ordinary wooden clothespins can serve as a luxurious material for creating, for example, such a puppet miracle bench!
Doll furniture decorated with knitted covers and other delicate details will look very cute, cozy and homely.
