Egyptian style interior

If you want to fill your house or apartment with moderate luxury, but do not be surrounded by gilding and expensive materials, then when planning your future interior, it is best to pay attention to the Egyptian style. It is worth noting that a room made in this style will be filled not only with the luxury and richness of the ancient royal palaces, but also with such distinguishing features as restraint and tranquility.

Many may find that this style of interior can be reproduced exclusively in private houses, mansions and cottages, which are large in size, but this is far from the case. The interior in the Egyptian style can be recreated even in an ordinary apartment with an old layout, however, it is necessary to adhere to certain criteria.

Interior decoration

Choosing materials for the interior decoration of the room, the first thing you should pay attention to is the color palette. For the interior in the Egyptian style, colors such as ivory, ocher, light yellow and beige are considered characteristic. In short, the color scheme of the room should reflect the sunshine of Egypt and the sand. In addition, it is impossible not to note the convenience in using these colors, as they are ideal for decorating not only the hallway and living room, but also such intimate rooms as a bedroom and a bathroom.

As a flooring, you can use ceramic tile, cork floor, parquet or laminate with a characteristic pattern for this style. When decorating walls and ceilings, you can set a small border in between these room details. If possible, the border should be equipped with a pictographic pattern or display elements of Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Doorways and windows are best done in the form of arches. If possible, then the room itself to install several false columns painted in style. The decorative structures themselves can be made of any modern building material, for example, drywall.

Furniture and Textiles

The selection of furniture is not the last in the formation of the interior in the Egyptian style. As a rule, it is furniture and textiles that fill the room with special wealth and luxury, so the “save” here does not work out. Furniture must be made of expensive wood. Of particular note is the design of the furniture. The furniture in the Egyptian style has a very original shape: legs in the form of animal legs, armrests in the form of tigers and panthers, Egyptian ornaments on the front. The decoration can be not only Egyptian-themed carvings, but also other decorative techniques, such as inlay, ivory or precious stones (malachite, lapis lazuli, turquoise, etc.).

As for textiles, attention must be paid both to color and pattern, and to texture. Rich materials, such as light silk and satin will only emphasize the overall picture of wealth and luxury, therefore it is precisely on them that it is worth choosing one in the first place. If curtains and bedspreads of a monophonic color do not meet your personal taste preferences, then you can diversify their monotony with a strict geometric pattern in accordance with the general style of the interior.

Accessories

Accessories no less than the rest of the components help in creating the interior in the Egyptian style. The room can be filled with a wide variety of vases, paintings and statuettes, the main thing is that they all evoke an association with the era of Ancient Egypt. It can be antique amphoras, statuettes of the pharaohs and Nefertiti, paintings depicting Egyptian hieroglyphs or the ancient Egyptian god.
