Photos in the interior: a kaleidoscope of best memories
The life of modern man is very multifaceted. Like the popular toy of our childhood, it consists of a significant number of fragments - events that are diverse in content and color. The most important moments not only leave an indelible mark in the soul of each of us, but also remain to live in photographs: black and white and color.
The desire of a person to keep in memory the most touching moments of life with the help of expressive photographs placed in the interior of the apartment has long been noticed and adopted by designers. Today, this method of decorating the premises is still relevant. Harmoniously selected photos can complete the decor of any room, giving it not only a stylish, but also very fashionable look. Photos in the apartment optically affect the perception of space - visually expand the walls, give the interior dynamism and originality.
Modern designers use many ways to decorate room walls with photographs. When choosing the most suitable solution, the influence of factors such as:
- general style of the decorated room;
- colors used in the interior;
- the location of the photographs on the wall;
- specifics of the photos themselves.
Varieties of photographs
It is customary to subdivide photographs into three large groups:
- family shots;
- decorative photos;
- poster images.
Poster photos are very enlarged samples of ordinary photos without small details. The production of such photographs from copyright photographs can be ordered at many companies specializing in photo printing. Decorative photos, most often, differ in average size and the presence of a certain plot. But the most common and sought-after type of photo work, of course, are family photos. These are pictures taken from a personal archive, as well as images of relatives and friends.
Which is better: color photos or black and white pictures?
Most likely, it will not be possible to get a definite answer to this question, since each of the options has its own advantages. Black and white photographs for a long time do not lose their appearance, remaining the same bright and clear. Such photographs convey the essence of what is happening, hide flaws and accentuate virtues. Thanks to them, a person sees himself from the inside. These photos intrigue and fascinate the viewer. At the same time, color images are more realistic and cheerful. They help to make any room brighter and more fun.
Surprisingly, it is a fact: amateurish photographs made by amateur photographers are the most expressive. Such works, as a rule, have an original plot and carry a huge charge of energy. Pictures taken by chance with an ordinary camera are most suitable for decorating the interior of an apartment.
Twelve basic rules of interior decoration photos
- From the whole variety of photos, you should choose those images that cause you positive emotions or pleasant memories. Designers do not recommend the use of photos showing anger and aggression. For the design of the room, only the most clear and high-quality images are suitable.
- The themes of photographs should correspond to the functional purpose and style of the interior. Landscapes and genre pictures are more appropriate for the living room, portraits will look perfect in the cabinet, in the kitchen room - photos of flower arrangements and still lifes, in the children's room - photos of the baby of different periods of life, in the hall - subject macro photography.
- Before placing photos on the wall, you should lay them out on the floor, choosing the most winning option for each picture.When decorating the interior with small photographic works, it should be taken into account that such frames will only look if there are a lot of them.
- Use the middle rule, according to which the largest photo or a series of identical sized pictures should be located approximately at a height of 150 cm, i.e. at the level of the eyes of a person of medium height. It is necessary to hang these works on the wall in the first place and subsequently follow them.
- Try to avoid the traditional placement of photos in a row and in the shape of a triangle - such a solution will make the interior dull and inexpressive.
- If you have a desire to place a certain number of photos that vary in size, it is recommended to build them in a kind of gallery. Pictures should be located at eye level in descending order: from the larger photo to the smaller at a slight distance.
- Pictures of the same size will most effectively look on the wall if you hang them in the form of steps, placing in such a way that the lower edge of the upper picture and the upper part of the lower picture are approximately at the same level, but slightly in the distance.
- To emphasize your favorite photo, you need to place it on the wall separately. It is recommended to adhere to the following rule: the photo should be large, framed in an effective frame - this will not allow the image to get lost on the general background.
- If there is a need to place one large and several small photographs on the wall, then the largest of them should be hung in the center of the composition, and smaller ones around the central image.
- You should not place photographs in frames made of various materials in one exposition. For example, photographs located nearby, one of which is decorated with glass and the other with wood, can give a vulgar look to the whole interior.
- Photos, “scattered” randomly on the wall of the room, will add brightness and brilliance to the interior, create a festive mood.
- Non-standard compositions from photographs look especially interesting: panels in the shape of a heart, a geographical map or a clock. You can also make a decoration in the form of a garland of photographs.
Useful advice: photographs in the interior can be found in unusual applications by printing them not on photo paper, but on various objects. Things for decoration should be chosen in accordance with the style of the apartment. Metal objects and stretch ceilings decorated with photo printing look very interesting, as well as ceramic tiles decorated with stylish images.
Do not be afraid to show imagination, and your interior, thanks to old photographs, will gain a new life.
