Sofa in the living room interior
The sofa not only creates an atmosphere of coziness and comfort in living room. Having correctly selected the sofa itself, its color, shape and location, you can change the room beyond recognition!
Sofa in the living room interior: location
Where to put the sofa? There is no single answer to this question. It all depends on the size of the room, the location of windows, doors, TV and many other factors. We will repeat, there is no single recipe, but there are several universal tips.
If the living room is large:
A large corner sofa is the perfect solution! It is not only convenient and comfortable, but will show the viability of its owner and sweeten the corners in the room. In addition, many models are equipped with folding and coffee tables, shelves and various other items. Or you can put a sofa in the middle of the room in front of the TV. This option, of course, takes up more usable space, but it looks more interesting than traditional ones. Just keep in mind that the back sofas are often not upholstered, and therefore put them in the center of the living room will not work.
If the living room is small
It’s better to put in it an ordinary small sofa along the wall. And if it is also sliding, then it can be used as an extra bed. By the way, some models of sofas have niches for storing things. It will also help save space.
If you put a coffee table in a small living room, it is better to have a glass one. It will look almost weightless.
Color and material
If the walls and furniture in the room are the same color, then they will merge into one mess. If they contrast strongly, then nothing good will come of it. Although the latter option is suitable for a black and white interior. A sofa of traditional colors - blue, black, brown and beige - will perfectly fit into the living room in calm shades. White is suitable for a room in pastel color.
You can, on the contrary, make the sofa a bright spot by choosing red, yellow or green for it.
It will turn out something interesting ...
Materials should be selected as carefully as colors. A lot of people always gather in the living room, so the sofa, or rather, the materials from which it is made, must be wear-resistant.
The skin looks just luxurious, but also costs a lot of money. And artificial leather is cheaper, but not inferior in performance.
Popular are velor, tapestry, flock. But they are quite short-lived. But the jacquard and chenille will last much longer, although their price is practically the same.
You can combine several materials in one sofa: make the seat and backrest, for example, from chenille, and the armrests from faux leather. There are a lot of combinations!
When choosing a sofa, it is worth remembering that it will not be replaced soon. Therefore, you need to carefully select the color, shape, materials and its location.
