Forms of arbors

There are a lot of variations in this question. The most popular arbors of the following forms:

  • round and oval, that is, arbors without corners;
  • square and rectangular - the most popular form of arbors around the world;
  • hexagonal and octagonal - inferior in frequency of construction to the previous species, but their popularity is also quite high;
  • arbors of irregular shapes with various "unexpected" angles and curves. In the modern motley world, they also have a place to exist, although they are extremely rare.

Complete sets of arbors

Depending on the purpose and size of the gazebo, several trim levels can be distinguished:

  • arbors, consisting only of walls (columns, pillars) and ceilings, used for conversations or for a break, such arbors do not even provide for the design of a table and benches (chairs);
  • gazebos for banquets with benches, chairs and tables. They can be both small in size for 4-6 persons, and large;
  • arbors that have the right to be called kitchens because of the presence of built-in brick or metal appliances for cooking pilaf, barbecue, cocktail, and other dishes. Also in some cases there are fireplaces and Russian stoves.

Materials for the manufacture

Depending on design preferences, wallet thickness and other considerations, you can focus on one of the following materials:

-tree. The most popular material in the construction of arbors. Pure, natural material in itself capable of making a room more comfortable and warm;

-metal. Strong and durable material, although in terms of comfort it is much inferior to the first type;

-brick. Quite often in the construction of arbors you can find brick and other building materials based on clay, sand and cement;

-a rock. This material is less common than the first 3, but you do not need to send this material to the backyards. A well-made structure or natural stone cladding will add sophistication to the design and at the same time monumentality of the entire building;

-shield blocks. More often used in the construction of regular dwellings than arbors, however, in a continental climate with cold evenings in spring and autumn, they also deserve attention;

cell polycarbonate. In the past few years, this material for the manufacture of gazebos has captured the market for low-budget organizations and private farmsteads. With the use of polycarbonate, the process of making arbors has become faster and cheaper, which is why this material is so popular.

Types of designs

By type, all arbors can be divided into 4 groups:

Open

This type of design is designed to solve two main problems: protection from the scorching Sun and rain. Most suitable for the summer season, indispensable for summer residents who spend 3-4 months on their 6 acres (or less). Open arbors can be found in different types and materials - they are made of wood, metal and others. With this type of construction, the play of forms and forms may be limited solely by your imagination.

Closed

This structure can be called an intermediate link between an open gazebo and a country house. Walls can be made of wooden grilles or closed completely. If the gazebo has solid capital walls, it can be used not only in the summer, but even in winter, if there is a heating system.

"Live" arbors

Real works of art landscape design. In this version, standard building materials are not used, but the fact is that real living plants (trees and shrubs) are used to build walls and awnings. In addition, such designs do not require special material investments, however, with the “construction” of such a structure, it will be necessary to use a remarkable amount of creativity. The result will be an original arbor in a single quantity, the second one will not be found in the whole world.

Pergolas - barbecue

If you are a fan of spending time in a big cheerful company, and even with the pleasant smell of meat or fish cooked in the open air, then this option is for you. Such arbors consist not only of the dining area, but also of the cooking area, which can house a barbecue, barbecue, cocktail bowl or a whole complex for preparing different dishes. Such a gazebo can be open or closed (with a good flue system), there are no special restrictions in the materials, the main thing is that the heating zone does not come into contact with flammable or explosive materials.open gazebo

Styles for the design of gazebos

The time has already passed when the arbors were typical and looked standard, with the exception of isolated cases erected by folk craftsmen-innovators. Today, people want to be different from each other, to have their own unique style. Often this desire extends to architectural buildings, including country houses. There are a large number of styles at the moment, but in this article we will focus on the most popular.

Classic style

This option assumes the presence of straight lines, the maximum comfort and convenience, the practicality of all areas, the absence of unnecessary parts that have no practical application.

Modern style

This is a combination of natural and artificial materials, including glass and its derivatives. Also, much attention is paid to landscaping and zoning of the room. It is this style that assumes the presence of a dining area and a place for cooking.

Pergola in national styles

The original national color will add sophistication to the arbor. This style consists of a huge number of sub-styles, starting with Russian, Scandinavian and Greek, ending with Japanese, Indian and Chinese.

Art Nouveau style

Long curved lines, floral curls, seamlessly turning walls into ceilings or window openings. It is difficult to determine exactly where the decor begins, and where the base of the arbor still goes. Here everything is relative, most successfully these smooth transitions are transmitted using forging.

Chalet Style

A true exotic for the vast majority of those wishing to become owners of gazebos. The birthplace of this style is the snowy Alps and the materials for them are used exclusively stone and wood, no plastic and metal. The colors of the interior should also match the color of stone and wood. For the decor you can use some hunting accessories and trophies, horns, dried wreaths of wildflowers, carved wooden products will look perfect. An arbor in the style of a chalet is inconceivable without a barbecue or barbecue, in the arbor itself there should be the smell of a burnt tree.

Sea style

Maritime-style pavilions also look unusual. Everything is clear here: a combination of white and blue colors, the attributes must include details from marine equipment (steering wheels of the ships, mast elements, porthole windows). Most often this is a light structure that does not have capital walls, instead of which curtains of a similar theme are used, the ceiling is made of reed or straw, on the floor there is a tile with a picture of shells and sea stones.

Hi-tech style

Oddly enough, but this style got to the arbors. It is characterized by a large space with a minimum number of walls and partitions. Wood carvings and flower-forged are replaced with straight, straight lines. Three main color shades - white, black and gray. Materials used for high-tech style: metals, concrete, brick, polymers and glass.Particular attention should be paid to lighting with modern flickering LED systems.

Country style

This style combines chalets, rustic and national colors. Everyone sees this style in their own way, but some mandatory components should be taken into account. During the construction and cladding of the room, preference should be given to stone, wood (plank, timber, log). Furniture in the gazebo should be either made of wood, or forged metal, or wicker. Gloomy shades of gray stone and old wood can be diluted with bright curtains, bedspreads and decorative elements.

Rustic style

In this style, as in the chalet style, only natural materials are used - stone and wood, and the rougher they are processed, the better for the overall picture of the room. Furniture in this case is exclusively exclusively made from wood. In colors, contrast and bright colors should be avoided.

Fachwerk style

This style comes from Germany and it should be noted that it is already more than 1000 years old. The main distinguishing feature is not masking the frame behind the cladding, but rather, showing it and even emphasizing it on load-bearing beams and bases from whole tree trunks. It looks at least unusual and carries some attractive power.

Minimalism style

The absence of extra furniture and decor, the prostate in the decoration with the possibility of using artificial materials and light colors in the overall interior design of the gazebo - of course this is a minimalism style, which is very popular among certain circles.

Work, as they say, work, and rest is also necessary. A gazebo is an important element of a summer house or garden, created for a comfortable stay. If you have a decent amount of money, you can afford hi-tech or modern style, if you don’t have so much money, and you need a gazebo, you can look at minimalism or rustic style. All in your hands!
