Actual trends 2015 - apartment design project
Using the design project of one apartment as an example, we would like to talk about the trends of 2015, which have earned popularity among designers and homeowners around the world. We all want to see our home beautiful, convenient, comfortable and safe. But to achieve an ergonomic and outwardly attractive design of an apartment or home ownership there are a thousand ways and several options for comfortable arrangement you will see in this publication.
Snow-white surfaces
Using white for interior decoration will always be relevant. And not only because the shades of white are perfectly combined with any colors and are able to visually expand the boundaries of space. White surfaces fill the room with freshness and lightness, give a feeling of freedom and spaciousness. And if we are talking about white glossy surfaces - then it is also very convenient in terms of daily cleaning. No wonder the glossy snow-white facades of kitchen cabinets were recognized as the most practical according to surveys of homeowners in European countries. Among our compatriots, snow-white wall decoration is also becoming very popular. And the use of various shades of white for the execution of certain pieces of furniture is increasingly common.
Built-in storage systems from floor to ceiling always look very monolithic, and in small spaces also heavy. The white color of the facades, diluted with glass or mirror surfaces, can visually lighten the structure. Such storage systems can be built into niches of rooms, or serve as a kind of screens, creating the zoning of spacious rooms.
Contrast combinations
The use of diametrically opposite shades in the interior of the room is a long-standing design technique, relevant at all times. Against the snow-white background of the finish, dark furniture, lighting fixtures or decor look most advantageous, spectacular. For example, a dining group made up of plastic chairs and a table with a glossy black surface transforms a bright space, introduces a modern, progressive spirit into the interior of the room. The composition of the three pendant lamps made of the same material, but in perfect different shapes, completes the original image of the dining room.
Save space
Saving the useful area of our rooms is an eternal question for all designers and homeowners. It is rare that any of us can boast that there is enough space in his housing for a comfortable and cozy existence and at the same time there is a feeling of spaciousness. The use of bunk beds in children's bedrooms is a trend that will exist for many years and will exist at all times. Due to the arrangement of beds on top of each other, you can find a significant number of square meters for games and entertainment, activities and creativity of children.
To equip a modern office, 1-1.5 square meters are enough - a small console for installing a thin monitor or laptop and a comfortable table or mini-chair. Sometimes this simple ensemble is supplemented by a pair of open shelves for placing documents and papers, stationery. To equip the workplace, you can use a small zakut space, lengthen the windowsill or attach the console to an unused wall or part of it.
Use of built-in furniture, sliding and folding mechanisms
For small spaces of city apartments, the use of built-in furniture has long been a fading trend - it is a practical and outwardly attractive opportunity to place the maximum possible number of storage systems in the minimum amount of usable floor space.
Built-in furniture often looks heavy, therefore for sliding wardrobes it is most often recommended to use glass (transparent or opaque, plain or with photo printing) and mirror surfaces. Mirrors not only perform their main function, but also allow you to visually expand the space, make a small room visually easier and more spacious.
The use of sliding and folding furniture will always be relevant. It is difficult to find an apartment in which there would be no folding sofa, which at normal times serves as a comfortable soft zone for sitting in the living room, and in case of guests' arrival, it is a sleeping place. Sliding and folding beds are a rarer arrangement of sleeping places. No one will argue with the fact that for arranging a bed for a child or teenager there is no better option than a stationary bed. But the child also needs a place for games, study and creativity. And if the modest area of the children's room is not able to accommodate all the necessary functional segments, then the sliding or folding mechanism of the bed, hidden in the bowels of the built-in wardrobe, can be a saving option for saving space.
Strictness in the interior of utilitarian premises
Recently, design projects of bathrooms and bathrooms that use print decorative materials have been increasingly less common. And the point is not only that for small spaces, plain planes are most shown for the visual expansion of space. Floral, geometric and any other prints, colors and ornaments were less commonly used due to the glut of our eyes with colorful flowers, bright bursts of street advertising, the bustle and diversity of urban life. Within my own home, I want to take a break from flickering and a variety of bright spots, I want peace and tranquility. Homeowners are increasingly choosing the most neutral of possible colors — pastel and gray tones — to design utility rooms.
